I think the newspaper says "New commentary columnist", meaning they've hired someone new for the staff.
The man carrying the newspaper does look like the Chapter 10 man, and Klaus might be looking at him. Still, there are many details in the illustrations that don't relate to the text.

It looks like Sunny is looking at him too, more directly.
And Antenora, it can't be 'New commentary columnist', because it's 'New Car------ary Columnist.'

The word we can see part of looks like "commentary"(at least, I can't think of anything it resembles better right now), so the newspaper's apparently hired a new columnist to write some sort of commentary.

Actually, I don't think he does look that similar to the man in the Chapter Ten illustration. However, the description of the Chapter Ten man fits this person from the first picture far better than it does the Chapter Ten man, so they may be the same person. Honestly? I don't think the pictures have the least bit of significance to the text.

And Antenora, it can't be 'New commentary columnist', because it's 'New Car------ary Columnist.' You're right; I was looking at a small scan of the image earlier, but now I have my book. Possibilities(you have to copy and paste the whole URL, or just go to Onelook.com and input "car*ary"): www.onelook.com/?w=car*ary&ls=a"Caravansary" is a lovely old word for a hotel, and I think it fits.

I think the man looks like a drawing of Lemony.

If I recall correctly, the word "Caravansary" was guessed to be part of the title of Book the Twelfth a while back.

Accept it couldn't have been, because we alredy have the Carnivorous Carnival. Speaking of whitch, there actualy was a Caligari Carnival in real life( look it up in the book: The 20th Century Year by Year)

Let's not go over title debates again here.
