I think that maybe Kit Snicket was married to Dewey Denoument, as in TPP, just before he died, Dewey said the word "Kit" and he died. Either they're married, or I may have missed something, which I highly doubt. Write your theories here.

From what I gathered, Kit and Dewey weren't married, but they did love each other. After all, after Dewey died it said that he left the woman he loved distraught and pregnant, which is how Kit described herself earlier. Nothing really said that they were married.

Well, they better be married! I mean engaging in those things is a sin! Better yet, I just registered in my mind that Kit and Dewey were VFDers together, and not just knowing each other in VFD then having Kit pregnant.

I reckon Dewey proposed, but Kit was thinking about it. If this is true, then it would certainly explain her behavior and meaning when Dewey said "Kit," he was meaning "I love you, Kit."

Yes Dewey and Kit are definately in love but I don't think they are married....purhaps they couldn't get married because it would be risky getting involved in such a public occassion

They were in love but not married. I can just hear the christian schools banning the book.

I have the impression that they wanted to get married, but circumstances didn't allow it--a public wedding would have been too risky, and they had to leave each other.

They could have been married (Kit needn't have changed her surname, and it might have revealed that Dewey wasn't legendary after all), but it's left open. If you think people shouldn't have children before they're married, then you may believe that they were married, as there's really no evidence against it. If you don't particularly care, then you can believe what you want. They certainly loved each other, though.
And let's not be crude.

I agree with what Dante said. At least I hope that's what it is. I mean, I wouldn't want characters in my book who are supposed to be "good" examples (by "good" I mean "not perfect, but at least trying") to act like that.
It's very likely that Kit is married to Dewy. I mean, she might be using her maiden name because most ppl don't even know that Dewy exists (or more precisly "existed" ).

I would likely say they were married....I am at least 70% sure that he rendered her pregnancy, or it oculd be he was just her friend, taking care of her, while she was pregnant, from someone else. It is very hard to say who would be the father....

I am going to imagine, then, that Kit is married to Dewey. There. Case closed for me.
