Wait just one second, how on earth does Quigley even know about the telegram?? I personally like Quigley because he gives the Baudelaires help when they least expect it. I hate Count Olaf because he could just make sure no one recognized him by taking daily showers and wearing socks, it would be his best disguise yet! Anyway, if you want to know why Mr. Poe ignored the telegram I'll tell you. A new reporter for the Daily Dorktilio is writing some ridiculousy false articles, one of them said it was dangerous to allow telegrams to be sent to banks. The Editor in Chief(Mr. Poe's sister) sent him this article to alert him and from then on he ignored all telegrams at the bank(including a cry for help from his sister who sent him the article!) This new reporter is a slave to Esme and does anything she tells her to, including publishing false articles and locking Eleanora Poe in a basement for no good reason. : ;D

ah. Now I see. "We once sent a telegram in no time at all. Quigley: "too bad the telegram never arrived." But I still stand by what I said earlier and I also hate Olaf because he causes absolute terror in the lives of innocent children when he could just use Esme's enormous fortune instead. I don't think Quigley is in VFD but I think Duncan and Isadora are. Quigley doesn't know what it stands for, plus if he were in it Jacques would have dragged him out of Monty's house by the ankles and taken him to the Mortmain Mountains himself.

For most despised character, I would have to go with Esme Squalor. She not only left Jerome, who is my favorite, but is a snotty, know-it-all, jerk! But oddly enough, I think that she will turn around and do good at the end of the story...

Out of those listed in the poll, prolly Isadora and Duncan. I don't like the Quagmires very much...maybe it's just because Austere Academy is my least favorite book. *shrug*

Arrrrrgh. What is it with people hating the Quagmires? I hate Olaf and the bald man. If Olaf just took a shower and wore socks the dialogue would be like this: Mr. Poe: Children, it's Olaf! children: Mr. Poe that can't possibly be Count Olaf, he smells pleasant and he's wearing socks! Olaf has absolutely nothing good about besides his cunning. The Quagmires have bravery, altruism, and care for their friends.

Haha, yeah, but Olaf has a posse. X333
I don't really hate the Quagmires, I actually like Quigley a fair bit, it's just that Isadora and Duncan just kind of get in the way of the plot for me: I consider it more streamlined and intense when it's just the Baudelaires at the center of the story and everything kind of unravels around them.
Aaaanyway, not tryin' to start a flame war or anything. *salute* Just sayin'.

Well, another reason I don't like Quigley is that he is destrating Violet from her brother. When the Baudelaires start to drift down one of the two streams and the single triplet is drifting down the other Violet is screaming to Quigley, who she doesn't have a chance of rescueing, when she could be paying a little more attenton to her brother who is floating maybe a foot away, who she has a perfect chance of recueing which she does but still she could've helped her brother a little more.

I don't think that's true, but u have to admit, Quigley would be a lot better to have around right now than Klaus. He's got VFD knowledge and maps of where the last safe place is, Klaus doesn't. Not saying anything against Klaus, he and I are a bit similar.

Let's just put it this way everyone has their own opinion and mine just happens to be that I don't like Quigley. I'm sick and tired of having to explain why I don't like him. I don't like Quigley and I would really appreiate it if you would accept my opinion.
