Edgar Guest, a bad poet beloved of Olaf and hated by good VFDers, had the middle name Albert. Mr. Poe's sons are named Edgar and Albert. Does this imply a connection between Poe and the evil half of VFD, i.e: the half wearing uniforms with Edgar Guest's portrait on them?

Well, it's certainly an odd coincidence. Maybe originally, Handler was trying to allude to two poets at the same time, and may now be preparing to expand that allusion. Or perhaps it's just an odd coincidence.

Eadger Allen Poe perhaps? but the other theory fits in more. But I still like Eadger Allen Poe more.
