Fernald's not annoying in the least, in my opinion.
Phil is the sort of character who, while he's pretty funny in fiction, would annoy me if I met him in real life; relentlessly cheerful people tend to grate on my nerves. Nero's pretty annoying too, with his "Hee hee hee!". And then there's Sir with his secondhand smoke and bad temper...It's hard to choose.

I voted for Widdershins, with his "Aye!" (which just occurred to me could be used as a pun with "Eye!")
But the most annoying to me is Olaf in TGG with his laugh obsession. That wasn't funny - it was just stupid. It seemed like Handler had Jim Carrey in mind when he wrote it.

I'd probably have grown very impatient after only about five minutes with skittish Hector. That's not to say that other characters aren't annoying, though.

I voted for Hector. I was listening to the tVV audio book a few weeks ago, and I was become so enraged at him - mostly because I realized that he was a volunteer, and knew Jacques, and didn't help him or tell the Baudelaires anything, even when it seemed Jacques was willing to tell them things about their parents. I was very angry at him.
Mr. Poe is my second choice.

Ah. I first responded to this poll when I had just finished re-reading the first four books. Phil was on my mind at the moment. Looking back on the series, I realize that Hector's skittishness is also terribly annoying. I agree, Dante. I am not a very patient person; Hector's skittishness would, I fear, have brought out the worst in me. People like him are indeed astonishingly annoying.

Probably Hector, Phil, or Nero. People who are ridiculously cheerful drive me insane. "Oh, it'll all get better..." I don't believe that, in most cases. Hector...I agree, I'm very impatient, I'd probably start yelling at him to stop being such a chicken or something of the sort.
And Nero...he's stupid. Braggy and stupid.

what's really annoying about nero is that he's always mocking people. and what's annoying about carmelita is that she's always calling people calesniffers. but, for some reason, those things are funny when klaus does it.

It was quite weird and creepy at first. I didn't expect it I guess. It sort of made me jump.What I found weird was the sheep and animation that didn't really flow with the thing. The character that I find annoying is Lemony Snicket and how he won't tell us what VFD actually means and how he made us addicted to this series. It's so annoying (just kidding). I seriously think that Carmelita is annoying. I mean her attitude and ways. I'm probably just thinking this because I have a friend who acts and looks just like how she's described in the books. |
