Well, in the picture in TWW it kinda looks like a guy. But knowing Lemony, we shall never know. It's not really important anyways.

There was a picture in TWW? The end picture. You see the back of the person of indeterminate gender, as it and Olaf flee the scene.

(I know this is in regard to themovie, but it is relevant)
The movie made it look like one side of his body was male, and the other female, split right down the middle like the face of that Batman villain played by Tommy Lee Jones. Remeber when Craig Ferguson walked down the aisle at the wedding? He was wearing half of a tux and half of a bridal dress. I tihnk it's more of just that the person is obese enough to avoid clarificationby figure, has unspecifying hair and unclear clothes and facial purposes. I'd say that we will never know the gender of this person.

It was my favorite henchman and one of my favorite characters.
I voted that it was a sex change gone wrong.

In the movie it looked like a man that tried desperately to look like a woman.

Brian's right, and in the movie they made him nothing like described in the book. If I could change one thing, that would probably be it because he was always the one who creeped me out the most; and the way they portrayed him totally stripped him of all his creepiness.
