Which one? I can't make out any such thing.
Also, if anyone wishes, this thread could be used for general discussion of TPP's cover and identification of the characters on it, if you think there is anyone to identify. If that becomes the case, I may move it to CCharacters.

hmm? I don't see any frog lamp I think the freaks are on the cover, Hugo is the hunchback obviously, Colette may be the lady in pink, and you can't really tell when someone's ambidextrous, so Kevin could be anyone... but I think he's the guy with the pipe because Kevin's face is described as wrinkled, and the man with the pipe does seem to have bags under his eyes

I think you might be referring to the man at the bottom with the bowler hat. There seems to be something etched onto the white space in his hat, but it looks like an eye to me...

Well, I have the American cover, and when I look closely at it, it looks like the frog lamp, not an eye. Is the bowler-hat guy in the middle, along the bottom?

The bowler-hat guy's right above the "book the Twelfth by Lemony Snicket" banner thing at the very bottom, yes. I can't see anything on his hat that looks like a frog lamp to me, just a faint reflection from the light.
Everyone on the cover is wonderfully cool-looking, anyway. I don't think those are supposed to be the Freaks, though--their outfits don't match the disguises the freaks were wearing, and the hunched-looking man doesn't look much like the chapter 4 picture of the attendant(who is Hugo).

I think the lady in the cover with red is the Baudelaires mom. Because in pg 8 it says "Your Mother was wearing a red shawl, with long feathers along the edges." And the lady in the covers is wearing a shawl.

I never thought of that. But she would have to have been wearing it the day of the fire.

Where's the hunchback? If Colette was the lady in pink, I wouldn't like her so much as I did before...previously I thought she was cool, but......she's scary looking. ^^

I thought the lady in pink was the reporter geraldine juliane or something like that.

No, she doesn't strike me as a needy, clingy woman, which is what Geraldine Julienne is portrayed as in this book.

I think Geraldine was described as blond, actually. We met a reporter in THH whom we later learn was her, and who certainly acted the same way, and who was blond and wearing a gray suit.

I don't think the characters on the cover are anyone (with the obvious exception of the Baudelaires) - they're just volunteers or villains formally dressed, nobody knowing who to trust, everyone observing everyone else in the crowded and confusing lobby of the crowded and confusing hotel.
I'm moving this to CCharacters now, also.

Who the heck would wear a frog lamp on their hat? Must be a crazier person than me!

It's just a picture, not the real lamp, ponygirl.
