I think it's a book that will be released around the same time as the DVD. April 19th is the rumor for the DVD and I remember hearing the Ominous Omnibus will be released around April

The Omimous Omnibus consists of the first three books printed as one volume, nothing more, sadly.
The film's DVD release date is tentative but it's obvious from the jacket art that it and the Omnibus are going to be promoted together (hence the "now on DVD"). Paramount removed the film from their 2005 release list a couple days after it leaked. However, The Incredibles is tentatively slated for March, so April is by no means out of the question. They won't announce an official date until they see how well the film does at the box office.

I knew it! Now, at last I am vindicated. I told Who so, but he kept on insisting that I didn't know. Newsflash: I may not have known, but it was incredibly unlikely to be something else!
Pity it's got one of those lame fake running posters as a cover. Ah well.

I don't like them because the running pose that the Baudelaires are striking looks somewhat faked.

Box office has absolutely nothing to do with DVD release date, sorry.
A prime example is Catwoman.
Released in theatres on July 23rd, 2004, coming to DVD January 28, 2005. That's over five months later.
Spiderman 2, released June 30th, 2004, came to DVD November 30th, 2004 (yesterday) Exactly five months later.
Catwoman made $15 million opening weekend, Spidey made nearly $200 million, yet Catty comes out later.

Box office has absolutely nothing to do with DVD release date, sorry. As a counter-example, I present Surviving Christmas. It tanked at the box office and so they decided to rush it to stores on December 21st in the hopes of ensnaring foolish last-minute Christmas shoppers, making it the fastest turnaround in the medium's history. Source: dvd.ign.com/articles/567/567481p1.htmlI will grant you that the vast majority of films tend to follow a set schedule, but that has been changing. It is now a fact that box office results-- as well as any number of other marketing factors-- will affect when a film is released on DVD. I can dig up more examples for you if needed. I don't mind discussing this with you, but please don't act omnipotent...it's unbecoming. I believe we've both made our points.

It's going to be on DVD December 21st?!?! Holy crap, that's insane! Almost as insane as releasing a Christmas movie with Ben Affleck before Halloween...
