I don't think he's dead. And is it just me or does that thing on his(I presume it's Olaf) ankle look nothing like the VFD tattoo? Because I don't think it does. And it doesn't look like the rope is actually tied to Olaf, it's just near him. Hmmm. I'm not entirely convinced that his is real but I'll go along with it for the present. And please let The End NOT be the actual title that'd be such a letdown...

Interesting. If this is indeed B13's cover, I like it. Odd that it seems to be released so early.
If Violet is holding a rope, Sunny seems to have a piece of it around her. It doesn't look like the same colour as the one by Olaf, although that may be the newspaper's fault.
My first thought was that the figure in the water, if it was Olaf, seemed to be drowned. The cover reminds me of Lost; the first episode was a lot of people splashing around in the water and drowning and whatnot.
I'm sorry, but I just cannot see the Quagmires that are supposedly in the clouds. Anyone want to enlighten me as to where they might be?
Also, what do you think the thing between Violet and Sunny in the background is? It could be a ship, or an island, or perhaps something else entirely.

Oh, my, gosh. A Series of Unfortunate Events: The End's cover. AAAHHH! I love it! Olaf! The fruit! The island! (maybe) The Quagmires! AAAHHH! *dances* I can't believe it!

The original ad did have pictures of all the books. Here's the picture of it that Josh scanned, somewhat shrunken, but you can tell the books are all there: www.project-am.info/mazead.jpgAnd it does look like Olaf could be dead, or at least injured or unconcious. The rope visible near him might be taken to imply that he was tied up, or someone attempted to tie him up. Hard to say what the Baudelaires are doing--apparently standing around looking moderately shocked, but Violet appears to be holding a rope. Are they tying up Olaf? I only count eleven, with TSS and TBB missing

The Quagmires? Um, I've scoured that sky about 3 times and see them not. Unless a cloud is magically transformed into the sshamh. And the thing between Violet and Sunny looks like a ship though I cannot say for sure.

In one of the left most cloud after you look at it in aglance can't you see two circles? Balloons. Now that you know something's there it looks obvious when you're trying not to look at it.

Oh. I saw the little circles, but I don't think they're the Quagmires. I'll have to wait to see a larger, better version of the cover. The SSHAMH has many green balloons, does it not?

The SSHAMH has many green balloons, does it not? Aye. And I doubt that the clouds mean anything in particular at all. Clouds like that show up in a number of the illustrations; they're just a generic backdrop. I also think the thing in the background could be a ship, or an island.

I see the circles and upon close inspection they could be attached to a basket... But like snicketfires says, the sshamh is composed of 12 or so baskets under enormous green balloons, I would think it'd be more noticeable, besides the circles haven't even got any hint of color or anything.

I had to keep myself from spazzing out when I read this, but I figured I'd log on and spaz my brains out to all of you. ^^
Naw, I'm not that evil.
That cover certainly raises some eyebrows. It looks like (assuming Olaf is dead) either the Baudelaires murdered Olaf, or something happened and Violet is using a rope to drag Olaf out of the water. But I can't tell from a picture of this quality.
Perhaps that is the boat in the background, and the Baudelaires are dragging Olaf ashore? Did it capsize?
I don't think the SSHAMH is in there, the two circles look like something from the opposite page, and the rest of it looks like your regular, everyday cloud.

For those of you who don't see all the books, the scan was done really quickly and the paper was kinda crooked, I guess. So B1 and B10 were on the left side of the page and got cut off.

Wow. Has anyone found out if any of the other aSoUE forums have the cover?
I think Olaf's unconscious. Apart from the title bit, which looks a little odd, it's quite a nice cover. And that balloon so has the Quags in it.

The SSHAMH has green balloons, so that thing in the clouds almost certainly isn't it. I'd be inclined to say it's just an oddity of the scan quality or some odd shading, as all it looks like are two heads - well, two head-shapes with hair - and aSoUE hasn't thus far been the sort of series to have mysterious faces hidden in clouds.
Edit: And I don't think Olaf's dead. I think they've all just washed up on shore, and maybe Olaf didn't float up so comfortably.

Wow. Has anyone found out if any of the other aSoUE forums have the cover? I dunno about any of the lesser known ones, but it's been posted on UE by one of us, and I don't think the Quiet World has it...I'll ask Michael. and pretend I found itNah, I'll give credit to josh. But yeah, to the picture. Person on cover is certainly Olaf, and I doubt he's dead. It's a children's series...they wouldn't have a corpse on the front cover. Though it would be cool if Olaf died in the end. And I think the fruit looks like a strawberry. Edit: I also bet Olaf doesn't know how to swim. And I think the title will be an alliteration, as always.
