****SPOILERS****Original post: Didn't have the time to scan it in. . . it's the Baudelaires, soaked, with the feet of a person in the foreground: one barefoot and one with a dress shoe on. Also, it said "The End" on the cover, so I guess we can assume that that is the actual title. Does anyone have any scans? It's in today's New York Times Book Review, in an ad. EDIT: How is that spoilers? They are on a ship. In the water. And the cover shows them with water. If you've read B12 it's not spoilers.

What?! That's a bit early. Still, no objections. If this is true, we need it scanned, now. Or photographed. Or whatever.

I'm away from my house; can't do it.
I know you guys wanted it, thought this would be already up. Saw that it wasn't. I'll be able to scan it and put it up later this afternoon if nobody else can do it by then. I'm assuming lots of people have the New York Times in their homes so if anyone can buy a copy. . .?
EDIT: Not a hoax, guys.

joshspazjosh, I've added a warning to your post about spoilers, in case anyone just wanders in here. I mean, I know that you don't come in here not expecting spoilers, but I have to be very clear about stuff like this. Plus the cover is a huge piece of information. Just so you all know, until we get everything sorted out, I don't want the cover posted anywhere but here once we first get it. I'll need to add spoiler tags to things and stuff.
Now, onto the spoilers: Did it show the spine colour? Is it the same as TBB? What about the border?

It was a very small pic. The ad was a maze with all the book covers on it and the B13 cover at the end. . . I think the spine color was. . .light blue? Yeah, cyanish. The border was too small; also the ink was kinda off register as it can be in the Times.
EDIT: It's not at Amazon, B&N or BAMM websites. . .hmm, it's weird that they'd leak it in the NYT first.

The border was too small; also the ink was kinda off register as it can be in the Times. EDIT: It's not at Amazon, B&N or BAMM websites. . .hmm, it's weird that they'd leak it in the NYT first. It does sound weird that it would first come out in a relatively ordinary way without any hype and splash, particularly after what happened with TPP. I've heard Handler didn't like how they dealt with TPP, all the secrets and stuff, but you'd have thought the cover would first come out in an AuthorTracker or on LemonySnicket.com these days. So I'm inclined to think that it really is just a leak, that maybe the cover wasn't meant to be released yet. Also it sounds like a somewhat obvious cover, but I guess it might well sum up the book. If the title really is The End, that's something of a blow to me, as I hoped it wouldn't be. I think it works best as a teaser title and that the actual one should stick to the pattern every other book has followed... Just makes me feel rather uncomfortable. But I guess it all depends on what Handler does with the title and in the book; I wasn't happy about TPP at first, but after I read the book I grew to like the title. Edit: Oh yeah, and you said this wasn't a hoax. That's good, 'cause if it was, I'd have to strike you. Also, once a picture is actually in our hands, could people not throw it around without asking me first? Given the rather sudden release of it, people might well be upset to stumble across it without noticing, so I'd like to keep its use restricted to perhaps a couple of threads until everyone's familiar with the situation. Assuming we get a cover soon, that is. Who knows how long we'll have to wait before somebody can get a copy of that issue?

Oh my god does no one have a copy of the New York Times
This is getting kinda ridiculous. As I am on crutches, it's pouring rain and I gotta rest after walking here at least I have a legit excuse. . .

This is really rather startling--it's surprising that they'd release the cover so early. But this does seem like a reputable source. And I can't find the cover at the Book Review page, which I assume is where it'd be if they had it up. But it seems they don't. Edit: Thank you.

I scanned it in at 300dpi - the entire ad. So the image was like 26mb. Here's the print-quality version of the cover: www.project-am.info/bk13.jpgIt's kind of. . .dotty but that's how newspapers are. Full ad [or at least most of it; the scan was kinda crooked] comin' up. EDIT: Link should be working now. DOUBLE EDIT: Small version of ad: www.project-am.info/mazead.jpgOn the upper right-hand corner it says "Over 50 million copies sold!" in that little red dot. And on the bottom there is a little plug for the 13 Shocking Secrets thing [the thing on the left that you can't see is a pic of the Secrets cover].
