SPOILERS AHEAD - I finished the book the day it came out, and I was really sad/ somewhat irritated that Handler made an ending that made us think of our own utopia I just really wonder about Hector, The Quagmires, that Question mark.....even Carmelita -.- Does anyone feel just completely, well like, blank after reading this, just thinking about it? I wish he just finished it, like whatever happened to Violet, Klaus, and Sunny and even people like Ishmael and Friday and Justice Strauss, or Jeremy Squaler - And what does VFD stand for!?!!?

If I can remember, you can't post outside the Official Spoiler Thread until next week.
VFD = Volunteer Fire Department.
"...for if you looked carefully, the drawing of an eye also spelt out the initials V.F.D., and as the children had investigated the Volunteer Fire Department first trying to decode the organisation's sinister mysteries...pg 316-317."

Is this just a general, what did you think of the end of The End thread?
If so, I liked it. I liked the amibuity of it all. I mean, it was saddening, but in a things-must-go-on way. Even-if-you-don't-know-what-lies-ahead-you-still-must-move-forward, you know?

But why would LS tell you what happened to all of them? They only were ever mentioned when they crossed paths with the baudelaires, because the series is all about the bauds, and nobody else. Maybe one day handler will write a series about the quagmires or widdershins, who knows. Doubtful, but possible. i liked the book, because although it didnt answer many questions, i knew it wouldnt. I mean, with all the secrets handler/lemony created, you know that all of them couldnt be answered. And besides, lemony has put mysteries into every book, its just his style of writing--as he wrote in the last book, one answered mystery just creates another. And if he did answer the questions, the revelations would be disappointing. its more fun to leave the reader guessing with all those mysteries than to disappoint them with crappy answers after 12 whole books of good questions. The End did exactly what is was supposed to do, end Snicket's research. Admittedly, i am disappointed about the ? not being explained, and thats why im hoping for a quigley series or soemthing to explain it. It probably wont happen, and ill still be happy

If I can remember, you can't post outside the Official Spoiler Thread until next week. If I may correct you - no spoiler-related threads are allowed outside this board, The End, until Friday; this thread is fine. Remember to check the Spoiler Rules Thread if you're unsure.
