The Hat probably saw potential bravery in the future. He was really brave in the fifth book. Probably in the sixth and seventh he'll be even more brave.

Ditched it for another book?? AH! I don't think Gryffindor's only abour bravery, at least not the conventional kind. Where else would you put him? Hufflepuff? Nah, he's worth more than that. Maybe it's the courage to deal with his parents' condition. There's definately more to our loveable little Neville than meets the eye.

Sorry. No offense meant. To me it just seems like Hufflepuff is a filler house, but not in a bad way. They take whoever no one else wants, because they believe that everyone should have a chance. The justness, that's what seems like their outstanding quality. And of course, they have all the loyal members, too. The hard workers. Neville just doesn't seem that well-rounded to me.

I believe Neville is a true Gryffindor. He might not be thre strongest person, but the boy is a fighter. He presses on no matter what and we found out just how eager he is to stand by his friends and his beliefs in the last book. He has true spirit. He wouldn't just give up the fight. He keeps going.
I think it's right that he is in Gryffindor.

My friend, Cherrol, is a super-fast reader. She finished OotP in a day. She doesn't like Harry Potter, though. Can you believe it? She says the books are too long, and she refuses to reread books 1-4. She read them three years ago, and she can't remember what happened in them. Anyway, yeah. If you're as fast as Cherrol, about five hours. (It took me twelve hours, and I'm pretty average. My friend, Shannon, is really slow. She started reading it a month ago and isn't done yet.)

Yeah, he isn't loyal enough for Hufflepuff, smart enough for Ravenclaw or evil enough for Slytherin. But he is pretty brave.

I dunno, Neville's pretty loyal. Not loyal enough for Hufflepuff? If Ernie Macmillian can get into Hufflepuff on his loyalty, Neville most defintely fufills all loyalty requirements . . . But he's a real Gryffindor. Oh, come on, we could be arguing that Hermione should have been a Ravenclaw-- or that Percy should have been a Slytherin. Slytherin doesn't necessarily mena "evil," just ruthlessly ambitious. Which fits Percy perfectly.

I think I read it in around 10 hours.
Yup Neville gets way more brave. I love seeing him stand up for himself.
