Harry was practically surrounded by death eaters who, nonetheless, didn't kill him. Crouch's son Snape Lucius As snape said, people thought Harry might've been someone around whom the death eaters could all rally.
And ollivander expected "Great" things from Harry. He also said voldemort did "Great" things. Perhaps Ollivander was hoping Harry would be a new dark lord.

I have lots of random theories, like the one that Ollivander might be working for Voldie.

My random theory has to do with the mirror Sirius gave Harry. I can't exactly remember what it does because I haven't read the books since last year, but maybe, just maybe (Hey I'm hanging onto any string of hope that we'll see Sirius in SOME form) Sirius can communicate with Harry using the mirror, even though Harry smashed it...

I doubt that though. number one Harry smashed his mirror. Number two, we don't know where the one owned by Sirius is. Number 3 sirius was dead so even if Harry miraculously fixed his, how are you supposed to communicate with a dead guy unless he's a ghost? It's not like if you keep calling a dead person's phone number they'll eventually answer.

Truw, but what if Sirius has a portrait of himself somewhere? Very unlikely though but who knows there might be. Also Rowling said that the we would see the re-appearnce of the mirror of erised so maybe that would contribute to the plot.

Possibly. Harry would almost certainly see Sirius in the mirror of Erised, but that wouldn't facilitate communications between them, harry couldn't talk to his parents in ss.

True, but what if the Mirror is used for something else, or is used in a differnt way to before?

How else would one use it? I suppose a talisman could be hidden like in ss but that would be using it in the same way. Maybe it can show Harry a vision of defeating voldemort so harry will know how to do it? Or it will get him onto the trail of one or more horcruxes? Thanks for awakening the ideas.

Also Rowling said that the we would see the re-appearnce of the mirror of erised so maybe that would contribute to the plot. That's what I thought of as well. But, since he was a 'criminal' and everyone thought he was evil, I doubt they'd have a photo of him on their bedside table. And your theory in the above post, Jacques, makes sense for the most part. Isn't his fondest desire as of now to kill Voldemort? I guess that's obvious, but I suppose he'll want to kill Snape as well. Unless...well, that's a whole other theory. Perhaps I'll post it sometime.

Post your theory! Now you've got me in suspense. And yes, I believe his fondest desire is to kill Voldemort.
