Ok, so I FINALLY finished the book. *spoilers in paragraph ahead* First of all, I loved it. Although it does not compare as much (to me) to HBP, I thought it was really, really good. I predicted Snape killing Dumbledore because he was dying actually when I read HBP- I'll find the link where I said that. Never mind. Stupid thread is hidden. I'll give two dollars to the person who can find me a link to the Half Blood Prince discussion thread. Best scene: Prof. McGonigall yelling "Charge!" to the desks. Really. She's my favorite character. Although the scene when Hermione randomly kissed Ron was funny. The epilogue was good too. And the chapter when Harry died. Best word uttered: Norberta. My sister and I use this as a "code word" kind of now. We have a lot of fun with it. Well, I do. Best book mentioned: 112 (or was it 12) Foolproof Ways to Charm a Witch, and Ron's comment after it (What, I really like the Ron/Hermione thing, and the Harry/Ginny thing- I'm such a hopeless romantic). The deaths made me really sad. Poor Hedwig. Especially a certain little house-elf. . Kreacher was... interesting. Didn't Harry set him free by giving him the fake locket- or because it was not clothing, he is not free? The dragon ROCKED. But I like friendly dragons better. Ron was soooo smitten with Hermione. It was hilarious in some scenes. Unfortunately, I felt almost as if Hermione was a little flat in this book. I didn't see enough of my favorite characters, mostly teachers. Aberforth rocked. So did Neville. And his Gran. Mrs. Weasley was cool. Really cool. My uncle made a good point to me earlier- only fifty deaths of the good guys, yet the castle is falling down around them, giants are crushing people, and killing spells are floating around the place. And how did Draco Malfoy become the master of the Elder Wand earlier- when he didn't even overpower Dumbeldore? The epilogue was good, but yet again, Hermione and Ron felt slightly out of character, especially Hermione (except I loved it when Ron said that he was incredibly famous- it was so Ron). I didn't believe Harry was a Horcrux until I read the book. All in all, I loved the book, but missed the magic and mystique that is Hogwarts.

And how did Draco Malfoy become the master of the Elder Wand earlier- when he didn't even overpower Dumbeldore? It was Draco who first disarmed Dumbledore on the tower, therfore he became the master of the Elder Wand. That was the plan gone wrong. Dumbledore had intended on Snape killing him and becoming the true master of the Elder Wand. Still...it was better for Harry that the plan went wrong...otherwise after killing Snape, Voldemort would have become the master of the Elder Wand.

yes it is better that the plan backfired. Though if Snape had the elder wand he probably would have been able to come closer to overpowering voldemort instead of just caving to him.

That makes much more sense now. Thanks you two.
New info: My pastor LOVED the new HP book because it had religious symbols in it. The trinity, and the hero dying, and then coming back to life, and something else (I forgot what).

That's kind of funny, because normally churches are like, "JK ROWLING IS SATAN! Burn Harry Potter Books! etc." My church was against the books. They were also against The DaVinci code becoming a movie and handed out pamphlets telling people how it's satanic and we need to write to the producers of it.

That's ridiculous. My priest loves the Harry Potter books, and people write books and music glorifying Satan, burn those not books that are actually sane and appreciated by millions. Yes, religious symbols were quite prominent in DH though I'm sure JK Rowling didn't just do that to shut up the extremists.

You know in the epilogue, where the kids are all grown up and everything's good?
Does anybody know for sure who this Victore (sp?) really is in relation to the series? Like, who's son/daughter is it? I'm sure I should know, but I don't. Remember little James making a big deal because somebody was snogging Victore (sp?)
So. Who's Victore (sp)?

Victoire is Bill and Fleur's daughter, which makes her little James' cousin.

And it was Teddy Lupin snogging her.
What a relief that it seems that Teddy doesn't show signs of being a werewolf

I believe JKR said that Teddy was a Metamorphmagus rather than a werewolf.

Yeah, when Lupin showed them the photograph, the baby was changing the colour of his hair.
