i was thinking that myself! and i always thought snape/lily is mirror to lemony/beatrice! c'mon, the guy always loved the girl from when they when they were kids, the girl marries another guy, they have kid/s, they both die, the poor guy is left to watch over the kid/s!
where shadows dim and shadows mate in caverns deep and dark where old books dream of bygone days when they were wood and bark where diamonds from coals are born and no bird ever sings that region is the dread domain ruled by the shadow king

Yes, definitely, I've always thought that. Lemony does it with a better grace, though. (Of course, Bertrand never exposed his underpants, which makes a difference, I guess.)
'The world, no matter how monstrously it may be threatened, has never been known to succumb entirely' - Lemony Snicket.
Lemony as Hufflepuff took me aback at first, but I think you're right - loyal and hard-working, not particularly brave.
I think there's also the fact that Hufflepuff is very un-glamourous - vanilla. It's not actually a bad House, but in student culture there seems to very much be an opinion that, while it's okay to hate Slytherin, it's okay to pity Hufflepuff. Lemony is a bit like that, I often feel - not very dashing, not exactly the hero of the hour, but he quietly gets the job done while nobody's looking.
It'd be dreadfully silly, of course, but it seems to me that there are enough parallels that an aSoUE/HP crossover fanfic could work - that is, wouldn't be completely illogical.

I think the three Baudelaires would all be Ravenclaws, and the Quagmires, Gryffindors. Olaf would be Voldemort, therefore Slytherin, and Esm´´é would fill the role of Bellatrix, therefore Slytherin as well. Carmelita would definetely be a Slytherin, she's easily identifiable with Pansy Parkinson.
Germes: I think inviting new people to join us is a good idea.

Germes: I think Bee did something similar at some point in the past.

Germes: And even earlier, there was a plan to stick 667 flyers in copies of ASOUE in bookshops. At least one person did join us because of that.

Sherry Ann: Didn't someone get kicked out of / asked to leave a bookstore for putting 667 bookmarks in ASOUE books?

Jean Lúcio: If there was a flow capacitor, I would sign up here long before ... That must have been incredible.

Stay-at-homet: Just updated my profile to express my hopes that everyone stays home and safe. I tried to give my avatar a mask, but it ended up looking more like Patrick from Spongebob in overalls.

Jean Lúcio: It was great for me. I also put a mask on my Avatar.
