Tocuna, I haven't really fought with you, but now I think the time has come. You realize that some people are always having to be around n00bs that think that they're always right and always will be to senior members who know the rules and try to enforce them. Then these n00bs get angry at these senior members... Wouldn't it be nice for senior members and select members to come in and talk without having people who are annoying and spam up the board. There we could debate and discuss very peacefully without people like soccrgirl or jake trying to mess up the boards. It would be great... This might actually make these n00bs think and try to act better without spamming. Okay, good point. Certainly better than the other arguments for that case. But ask yourself, would you be let in? How is senior member even defined? Like Luna said, should I speak in short words? I don't think it makes me sound extra smart; it's how my family talks. I have no intention of fighting with you. |

My peers seem to think that modest is a "Long" word, I hate them so much. |

Advanced vocabularies come of living in a well-read household, or of reading Snicket's books. In my case, both. "Modest" is a relatively little-known word, but people really should know it. It's useful.
Anyway, Gohan's post earlier was the weirdest criticism I've ever recieved of anything I've written, topping even the "Use better paper" comment written on this essay of mine by another student who was peer-editing it. Were I less emotionally restrained, I'd likely begin a flame war, but since he's still my friend I'll stick with agressive vocabulary enhancement.

Nice of you to think of them, but: A: They can always talk by PM or email to avoid interference. B: There's already a restricted board devoted to planning(Dreadful Dark Avenue). I don't know if it's just for mods or what, however. I'm surely not let in. |

Yes, Tocuna, but it's ONLY FOR MODERATORS. Wouldn't it be nice if someone who's been on 667 for a long time and has had ideas about it to help make the site much better?
Also, PMing can be boring if you want more than two people to be in on the same conversation... Yes, I know, you can add in a quote, but it'd be nice to actually see the thing when it happens. PMing could work, though, I have to admit.

Indeed it would, but they can always post in Foreboding Feedback. Or they could PM a moderator; PMing is good for conveying anything you'd rather not post. I know that from personal experience. Don't we already have one or something? And why do people care so much? Wouldn't that be upping the elitism a little more than it should be? The entire point of a board is so that fans congregate. If you segregate it, then isn't it undermining the community feel that a message board should have? Yes. You are a genius. That's exactly it. |
