*sighs*
As long as they don't use Emily Browning I'll be happy.
Did you know that Stephenie Meyer the author of Twilight wanted her to play Bella *outraged*...But...back on topic. Emily Browning just doesn't remind me of Violet. At all. Not in any way, shape or form.

I very much enjoyed the first movie. Some of the casting was off, such as Klaus and Olaf, but I loved the additions such as the emphasis on the parents and the addition of V.F.D. elements, really helped reconcile the first three books with the rest of the series. I was looking forward to a sequel, but at this point, its too late.

I pretty much very strongly disliked the movie. . .it would have been kindof okay if they didn't have what's-his-face play Count Olaf. He turned it from a very decent plotline to A Movie Starring Me!!! Whoopie!!! >(

I just finished re-watching the movie for about the fifth time. One of my favourites, definately.
But yes, it's not very "Book-like". But I mean, I liked the added bits that only die-hard fans who actualy READ the book would have gotten. I.e The person who looked neither like a woman or a man, escorting Violet down the isle (even if he wasn't extremely fat), and the Lousy Lane and Grim River scene.
It's such a pity Klaus didn't wear glasses, because then there could easily be a sequel. But frankly, I'm willing to overlook that fact, if it means another movie.

If they want the same actors for sequels, then that's too bad. I've seen pictures of the first film's cast and they all look heaps older (Sunny's growth is quite scary). Of course, the adults don't matter as much. I don't know how good it would be with new actors...

The first movie was disapointing and nothing like the books. in thequietworld, i heard something about being one of the characters like Isadora, and send a video to them. I really don't want them to make number 2. but, its better if they do because, I WANT TO KNOW HOW ISADORA AND DUNCAN LOOK LIKE TO THEM! maybe 4-6 (? it doesnt have to be like that anyways) will be better.

I wish that they would make a sequel. The movie in my opinion however was a bit creepy(like the credits and the beginning)

That's the first new news we've had in a while. Whether it ever gets filmed is another matter.

I'm just g;;ad that there's a possibility that it'll get filmed. There was a lot of critiscism after the first one, so they wouldn't waste money again if they know how much complaints there's going to be if they fire Handler.

Totally. Imagine how brilliant the first one would have been if they'd kept Handler. Emily Browning would have been nowhere to be seen, I expect. Nor Jim Carrey. *Grins*

Wow, I've been looking forward to some more news about the possible film for ages, and I was surprised to hear that Handler had been fired from writing a screen play adaptation of his own books. I think the first film may have been a lot better with his help and it would be interesting to see if Handler publishes those drafts for the major fans.
