I just got done reading "The Hostile Hospital" and after I got done reading, I notice that Mr. Poe hasn't made a appearance. I thought that he would show up at the end of the book, but he didn't. I wonder why he didn't, I wonder if he ever sent a telegram back at "the Last Chance" general store?

I wonder why he didn't, I wonder if he ever sent a telegram back at "the Last Chance" general store? The telegram never arrived, because Mr. Poe received a message which he thought was from his sister telling him not to accept telegrams at the bank. Also, due to the actions of Count Olaf, a number of telegrams have been blocked because some telegraph poles were cut down.

I hope we discover more about that mysterious guy who cut them down, and if there was any other reason behind doing it....

Wait, poles being cut down? Where was this? I am so dumb, I have no recollection of that whatsoever.

Wait, poles being cut down? Where was this? I am so dumb, I have no recollection of that whatsoever. In the Unauthorised Autobiography, there was a letter from a mysterious person to Al Funcoot, in which he claimed to have cut down telegraph poles on Funcoot's demand.

He doesnt come back or answer, and why? Well in the LSUA, it said to halt (stop) any incoming telegrams, and then it shows some of the ones that have came in that were simply ignored. I can't remember who gave the order to ignore incoming telegrams, but on the ones that they showed that had came in, one was from the baudelaires.

Didn't Daniel say that it also had something to do with storms?

I can't remember who gave the order to ignore incoming telegrams, but on the ones that they showed that had came in, one was from the baudelaires. The order came in a letter which Poe thought was from his sister Eleanora, editor of The Daily Punctilio, but was probably from somebody else entirely. The second ignored telegram was definitely from Eleanora, who had been locked in the basement of the Punctilio building by Geraldine Julienne. This event spurred her to have second thoughts about how true the articles she printed were, but we haven't heard from Eleanora for a long time now. Didn't Daniel say that it also had something to do with storms? In an interview, Handler was asked why Al Funcoot wanted the telegraph poles on Rarely Ridden Road to be cut down. Handler replied with one word: "Thunderstorms."

Poe seems to enjoy not checking the senders of his messages. Why does this man have no logic and no brain?

Because he's an adult in A Series of Unfortunate Events, that's why.

Sorry if this is OT, but where was Mr Poe, from the start of VV to the end of GG? Looking for the Baudelaires?

Sorry if this is OT, but where was Mr Poe, from the start of VV to the end of GG? Looking for the Baudelaires? Probably didn't know much about them. He only ever reads the financial section of The Daily Punctilio, so he won't have found out about the allegations against the Baudelaires for a while, and he never received the telegram the Baudelaires sent him because he was told that it was dangerous for a bank to receive telegrams.

I hope we discover more about that mysterious guy who cut them down, and if there was any other reason behind doing it.... I don't know how long ago you said that, but after reading TGG, I'm pretty sure that whoever did that for the reason that volunteers could no longer send out Volunteer Factual Dispatches.
