I'd suggest avoiding actual content on the Series; he probably won't answer it. Try asking him personal questions. And remember that 20 of the questions will be answered by Daniel Handler, NOT Lemony Snicket. So try aiming some questions at him aswell.

What do you miss most about days gone by?
If you could switch places with any character from any of your books, who would the character be, and why?
Who is your favourite Beatle?
If you were to be proclaimed the ruler of a country, which country would it be, and why?
What would you choose as a storyline for an ASOUE fanfic if you were a devoted fan?
What is your favourite ASOUE ship?
Will you write another book and save our forum?

Another one I've been considering, for Handler: Before you had decided that TPP would take place almost entirely at the Hotel Denouement, where in the City did you plan for the Baudelaires to go(and hence, what might have happened)?

Question: You've said you had to change your plan because of the line from The Bad Beginning, "Klaus read through Count Olaf's papers and books." What would have happened differently if you had never written this line, and what were the Baudelaires going to find?

Dear Daniel Handler, I find myself in a head vs. heart situation. I have ended an emotionally draining relationship of more than 10 years. As I tried to find the courage to "move on," I found myself turning to a married woman who understood everything I had experienced and made me believe that she was also looking for the courage to change her situation. Our relationship grew into something more than it should have, considering her marital status -- and a considerable amount of time has passed. I still believe she is my closest friend, but I don't know if I should continue to support her in the hope that she will make a change. Or is it time to face the realization that I have made a big mistake and try to cut my ties with this woman? I am at the point of near obsession with wondering if this vision in my heart will ever come true.
My heart says hold out; my head says back away. I'm looking for objective wisdom -- BAFFLED IN WASHINGTON

Dear Daniel Handler , I'm a 15-year-old girl in high school. Two days ago I went to my friend "Kate's" house to work on a school project. After we started working on it, Kate's sister, "Nell" -- who is 9 -- accidentally stepped on the poster board and bent it a little. It was something that was easily fixable, but Kate lost it. She started yelling and verbally abusing Nell. When Nell tried to leave the room, she tripped over Kate's pencil pouch, which was in her way. With an "I warned you," Kate jumped up and punched her little sister in the stomach -- hard. Nell fell to the floor and started crying, and Kate kicked her until Nell finally crawled out of the room.
Their parents were not home, but were coming back in a few hours. I was shocked by what I saw. Kate seemed perfectly calm and just sat down and started working on our project again.
Should I tell anyone what I saw? I'm not sure if Kate does this all the time, and I'm afraid if I tell on her, she'll accuse me of "betraying" her. She has a lot of influence at school, but I feel I can't just stand there watching Kate beat up her little sister. -- SCARED FOR NELL IN THE U.S.A.

How would the series have ended if you had not come up with V.F.D.? Similarly, how would it have been different if the Baudelaires knew nothing about V.F.D. at all?
How was V.F.D. started?
What caused the schism?

As the official representative of Lemony Snicket in all legal, literary, and social matters, you are often asked difficult questions, even when you are in a hurry. Recently I have been wanting to ask you the following:
1. Will you please get out of my way?
2. Where did Lemony Snicket's Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography come from?
I understand that the replies to both these questions are very long stories, but if you have the room to answer the first question, it would be greatly appreciated.

What's your favorite phrase for which V.F.D. is an acronym? Why?
Do you really like Moby-Dick that much? (Okay, this is perhaps not a serious question.)
Why is it that plaid suits are unacceptable (TRR, I think)? Don't you find them somewhat rustic and daringly, outlandishly charming?
In an interview you stated that "The best defense against injustice and repression is the truth, which should be spoken often and with aplomb." Do you feel that presenting the truth with a certain sangfroid is a goal (major or minor) of your writing? Furthermore, do you believe it is within the power (or, for that matter, the duty) of literature to expose or combat injustice and repression? Is it true, in your opinion, that literature exhibits more truth than mere historical facts? Finally, do you believe there is any politician in the 2008 presidential race who seems to uphold this statement of yours? If yes, who? If, as I suspect, the answer is no, can we ever be saved?
(Last question edited for length. If necessary, the politician stuff at the end can be removed.)

Great questions. The last one is too long. Condense a bit, somehow.
