You're most welcome, Miss Brigham! I'll have to take a look at those biographies, as a while has passed since I read them.

I stumbled across them one day (after deciding that I'd re-read all of the books cover to cover... *nerd... * ), and thought Brigham would be an excellent last name.

Count Herald( Count Olaf's father): the Danish king Herald The Blue-Teethed/. Eleanora Rose Baudelaire(Count Olaf's mother): well, it is not a cultur allusion. Just because she is Jewish and Eleanora and Rose are both Jewish names.

I know someone called Herald. But he spells it Harald. Eleanora Rose is a pretty name, too

colette: I know I've mentioned this already on one of the interview threads, but like LSWannaBe I love the name Eleanora Rose. And how very clever that it complements your character's heritage. @tiago: I thought when I read TOO that Olive's one brother was named after Daniel Handler's son. Also, I need to get up the courage to see Orphan. It looks fascinating, but every time the trailer came on I'd hide my eyes! XD When I first saw her, I thought Vera Farmiga looked like a younger Esme.

violet Marie: It's sweet how you named Aaron after your cousin, and Sophia's middle name after your friend. I have quite a few characters whose names have come from my own family and friends, as well. Seymour Glass: I'm glad you found a way to give Esme's and Manfred's daughter a French name, without breaking the traditional Salinger Character Name Trend.

@tiago: If you hadn't said that Finn was named after Huckleberry Finn, I would have guessed that you named him after Finn Hudson.

David Snicket (Lemony, Jacques and Kit's father): Actor/comedian David Walliams. Penny Snicket (the mother): The possible name of Goofy's dead wife from Disney. Abigail Stoppard (David's younger sister and the mother of Charles): The song Abigail, Belle of Kilronan by The Magnetic Fields. Garrett Stoppard (Abigail's husband and the father of Charles): Actor Brad Garrett. Jeff Horowitz (Esme's father): The character Jeff Collier from Casualty. Horowitz is Winona Ryder's actual surname. Genevieve Horowitz (Esme's mother): Esme's middle name. Esme's older brothers' names Julien, Gerard, Arnaud and Rene don't have any significance. Though Arnaud came from the minor character from the Tomb Raider franchise. Moses Horowitz-Fisher (Count Olaf and Esme's son): The Biblical character of course Esme's two other children, Ethan and Patience, aren't named after anyone. They're just random names. Joel Fisher (Esme's boyfriend): His first name is named after my (awesome) Jewish friend at college. Fisher just seemed to fit. Lysandra Squalor (Jerome's second wife): The Shakespearean character from Midsummer Night's Dream. William Squalor (Lysandra's and Jerome's son): My maternal uncle and his eldest son. Gladys Connolly (Aunt Josephine's mother): My maternal great-grandmother or "Jonesy" as we used to call her. But I'm not 100% sure Gladys is correct, but I think it is. Connolly is from Billy Connolly Arthur Connolly (Josephine's father): My maternal great-grandfather (and hopefully, one day, the name of my son ) Lucy Montgomery (Monty's sister): My own sister.

@tiago: Thank you for answering the Glee-related question for freebird and me. ^^ Invisible: I love how so many of your names are inspired by your friends and family. And I hope your wish for a son named Arthur comes true for you some day. You'd be such a terrific mother, Beth.
