I have made quite a ton of OCs for original works, but for some reason I keep thinking about what they would be like if they were in the world of Lemony Snicket.
That and the names were chosen randomly, so I guess maybe I could think hard about what their association if they were in the Snicket world would be like.

Hopefully I'll give her a proper inroduction in a fic soon, but I have a Matilda named after the titular book character (which is discussed), though she goes by Mattie. And though not an OC, I've named R Ruth, which just sounded appropriately old-fashioned to me.

Allegra Preludio and Melville Denouement, parents of the Denouement triplets: these are fairly straightforward. 'Allegra' is just a name which a member of a musical family like the Preludios might have. 'Melville' comes from Melville Dewey, inventor of the Dewey Decimal Classification (though in story we should probably imagine he was named in honour of Herman Melville).
(I had already made the Quagmires' mother a Preludio before ATWQ came out, so could not make use of more recent speculations about who she might be.)
