Here's someone we're going to be seeing regularly. The Netflix series has cast Mr. K. Todd Freeman as Mr. Poe. deadline.com/2016/03/k-todd-freeman-cast-netflix-a-series-of-unfortunate-events-1201716643/I suspect there are better photographs of Mr. Freeman out there for the purposes of picturing what he'll look like as Mr. Poe, but as with Neil Patrick Harris's Count Olaf, it's probably going to take official publicity photographs before we can start picturing him in character. Or Photoshop. Has anyone seen K. Todd Freeman in any other television works? What do you think of this choice?

Apparently he was in Law and Order, so I imagine Mr Handler is happy.

Thanks for the update, Dante. I suppose that's the main four characters cast then (V+K, Olaf, Poe), unless there's going to be a Lemony. Sunny has an important role but I don't think it particularly matters what baby plays her.

I know nothing about this guy but I trust Netflix that he's the best guy for the part. And I'm glad to see a non-white actor.

Ditto to what Linda said. Also, I will be very surprised if there isn't a Lemony.

Ohhh I remember him in L&O. I like this decision, and I never thought of Mr. Poe as a black man but I really like the idea.

Oh I was actually just bringing up that million year old fantheory about Poe being a woman Oh like there was lots of negative feedback about the all-white main cast (even tho it kinda made sense, like they're related, so yuh probs all the same ethnicity), which netflix seems to be indirectly responding to by publicising Poe's actor who is not white idk...

I wasn't aware that there's been any notable critics of that, esp. since we only know of three others actors. Pretty sure that must've been some teens on tumblr or something, so I doubt that that's a response from Netflix. More like a decision by Handler who said that he didn't want an all-white cast.

Lol I'm pretty nobody who counts as notable gives a crap about this show yet, but yeah I was speaking more along the lines of "teens on tumblr" kinda critics, who I reckon hold more sway than you reckon. Like, if you were Netflix marketing team, and were seeking out a general response to your campaign (such as could be represented by a post with many notes, or a relatively highly retweeted tweet) I think many "teens on tumblr" highlighting this as a perceived issue could be something that factored into your marketing decision making (Sorry if that didn't make any sense, I have a lot of sleep debt atm, and am brain fried)

No I getchu, but I still think the casting (not marketing!) department will rather rely on their years of experience rather than some snotty anons. And Daniel Handler has more say in this than them anyway, I think, and he doesn't seem like the type who panders to the internet.

I thought the actor playing Mr Poe in the movie was spot-on, it really fit what I had in mind for him ! With that said, I can't wait to see Mr Freeman's interpretation
