I'd like to get general feedback on ideas regarding the forum's design, including colors, layout, background, and fonts. I know there are things to be discussed about the banner, but let's put that conversation on hold for now because I need to hear back from someone before we can move forward with anything. For reference, here are a few screenshots from 667 in 2011: ibb.co/89Nrpjcibb.co/hfygg5Fibb.co/tq9y0y6To kick off the discussion, I added pinstripes back today. Edit: Which are way too far apart ... uh, give the pinstripes another few minutes. Edit 2: Better! But maybe too dark? Discuss!

The pinstripes I regard, as expected from a long-timer, as a classy touch; but they probably could stand to be a touch lighter, it's true. They fade a little in the wrong lighting.
667 mostly looks pretty good at the moment, so as I see it this is mostly a discussion about icons, current and past - and fond as I am of the classic icons seen in the screenshot, they do look a little rough by today's standards.

I agree this pinstripes is very "in". (I will need to access the screenshots later, as the proxy server does not allow me to access the links.)

(I will need to access the screenshots later, as the proxy server does not allow me to access the links.) I pulled them from the Wayback Machine - maybe that will work? 667 mostly looks pretty good at the moment, so as I see it this is mostly a discussion about icons, current and past - and fond as I am of the classic icons seen in the screenshot, they do look a little rough by today's standards. I would like to customize the icons, and though the 2011 style may be outdated, I do like the TEE theme. What do other people think? Would an ATWQ theme be more appropriate? A mix of ASOUE locations? Finally, I have heard back about the banner. I would like to hold a forum-wide contest for submissions, and though I have my own ideas about how this would go, I am open to suggestions from other people.

I would like to customize the icons, and though the 2011 style may be outdated, I do like the TEE theme. What do other people think? Would an ATWQ theme be more appropriate? A mix of ASOUE locations? Different series may come and go, but the name of the website is and remains "667 Dark Avenue"; which, in a strange way, I think in its very narrowness conveys something broader than a more literal adherence to the forum's formal URL (ASoUE.proboards). ATWQ's clean art might be easier to edit, but at the same time it's not really any more current a series than ASoUE any more - and it's not like we have access to any Poison for Breakfast resources... All of which is to say that a TEE theme is a coherent approach so long as our available graphic artists can make it look good. (If only the TEE penny dreadful had come out! We had hints that they were working on it.)

I love the way the pinstripes look in the first pic: shorter and closer together. I think that it would be both fun and nostalgic to see more Helquist on the site as well.

I found the first print the most beautiful. But I have to say that I prefer the simplest and least attractive home. As it stands today, it is as if the homepage says: "please don't stay on this site" which for me combines more with the theme of ASOUE than something beautiful and flashy. But I am a strange person.

As it stands today, it is as if the homepage says: "please don't stay on this site" Ouch. I certainly meant the banner as a placeholder, but in that case ... we need to get this competition live ASAP.
