i was just wondering how people felt about slash stories. to me, it just seems completely wrong but i just want to hear the different sides of the argument.

Personally, I don't mind them, even like them most of the time. It sort of depends on your views on homosexuality, I guess. I think it's just as sweet when two people of the same gender love each other as it is when two people of the opposite gender love each other, but that's just my opinion.

I don't mind it, theres nothing wrong with it to me but I perfer het fics. It just depends on the couple really because some slash is so adorable like Merry and Pippin for example.

Merry and Pippin? That's one I've never heard before, actually...
I agree with Aurora way up there *points*. If it's a good story, I'll love it. It doesn't matter if it's het or slash or whatever... I'm always ready for some well-written, sweet, romantic tear-jerkers ;D

Ahhhhhhhh, I see. Well, what ever floats your boat! Personally I think fanfic kinda screws up the world the author creates, but thats just me

Really? Hum I didn't know that. Well Frodo and Sam are cute too.. they aren't realated are they?
I think fanfic explores other parts of a writers work that they didn't explore. I dunno, I'm addicted to fanfiction.

In a way, I suppose you're right about messing up an author's world... but other times it simply explores it... J. K. Rowling is put under restrictions for her stories, even though you don't really think about it... parents have already approved the books for their little kids, so the author can't very well put in anything more sexual than a kiss, or worse words than "bloody". She's bound by her readers to come out with a clean series, with no explicit blood, gore, sex, or adult problems and emotions... Which is sad

I belive it's the opposite of slash.
I don't like reading slash, though I've only read a chapter of one. I've never really enjoyed reading romance fics anyways.
