The quagmires said they lived in the orpahn shack for 3 years but then didnt have to anymore, why is that? [/color/] The Quagmires lived in the Orphans' Shack for three semesters not three years. What an idiot.

That's a good question. Considering how careless Nero is, wouldn't he just stack the Quagmires and the Baudelaires together in one shack. If I find my copy of TAA, then I'll check. *goes look for it*

What's the difference between a semester and a year? Is a semester like a term? If it is, then three terms = a year...hmm....
any way...I found a mistake! whoo for me! I'm not sure whether u have it...cuz I have a 3-in-1 book which was made spsh for WHSmith...anyway at the end of Chapter 1 in The Miserable Mill it says:
But if it looked like a tattoo of Count Olaf, then wouldn't the building be shaped like a skinny man, with one eyebrow and shiny eyes? No, I'm thinking, well I know it meant the VFD eye, but it didn't come out right...

Now people, I'm sorry I missed all this, but you're telling me that some people don't say the "h" in hallucination? Weird.

(I think) So the Quagmires would've been ther for a year and a half

As far as I'm concerned, a semester is a division of the school year basically. In my school, the semester ended when the report cards came out, and there started a new semester.

I'm not sure if such topic exists. I've looked through all the forums concerning this topic/thread, and I couldn't find anything. If there isn't any other thread that's dedicated to this topic, then I'll use this one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I once read about a journalist," Duncan whispered, "who was reporting on a war and was imprisoned by the enemy for three years. Each morning, she looked out her cell window and thought she saw her grandparents coming to rescue her. But they weren't really there. It was a hallucination." -pg. 139 -- TVV I'm not sure if from where Daniel Handler is from they actually pronounce the "h", but if not, wouldn't it be an hallucination? Although I doubt it, it could be Duncan's dialect or something. But for the most part, I think it's just a mistake. Do you have any examples of some other mistakes you've found? I say the H in it. Do you mean that you say "analucination"?

No, I don't say that. I say "an allucination". Something more like that.

I found a mistake.
I might've read the books bad, but this is the mistake I found:
Count Olaf wants the Baudelaire fortune. But Esme tried to kill them by dropping them in the elevator before she actually got the fortune. Unless she pretended that she wanted to kill them, but really wanted them to get the VFD thing opened.

She wanted to trap them so they couldn't interfere with the auction. She knew there was a net, but wasn't counting on Sunny being able to climb the wall with her teeth.
