I still insist Lemony cannot make it too dark. Parents are very, very sensitive about child death.

*wraps Sunny up in bullet-proof blankets* NO! NOT SUNNY! EHEEE! Sorry, that made me smile. I agree, he probably can't make it too dark- unfortunately the publishers would not let him. He'd get complaints from parents claiming that he's warped their kids. Call me dark, but I'm hoping someone important- really important- kicks the bucket. On the flip side I'm desparately hoping that Beatrice is alive after all. But that's another story. Anywho, I also go with the pathetics and sensitivity of society. Darn politically correct- I want a plot twist!

I think some sort of orphan will meet an untimley end. But I'm not sure how it will be done. If any thing, hopefully it's Quigley.
I agree, Dupin.

It can't be any kiddie, though. Danny Handler already got a lot of flak (is that the word?) for killing off the parents, etc. Kids are stupid. People are stupid. Censors are censer-tive.

I don't think all the siblings will die, but anything is possible and I don't see the series ending on a totally happy note. It will most likely be bittersweet w/ Olaf dead or at least out of the picture and the orphans (at least those who survive) still alone in a cruel and harsh world. ::Sighes:: alas only time will tell...

Still think Duncan, Isadora, Hector, and Beatrice die in book 13, that's 2 orphans. The law can't do a thing about it and parents will just have to deal with it. I'm sure the books they read are plenty dark.

Captiosus: You're not getting the point. Books have to go throug censors. Censors are sensitive. Anything that might remotely set people off are told to be taken out. There can't be any sex scenes in a children's books. Likewhise, there cannot be children deaths. Child death is a very sensitive issue. It makes children cry, which makes parents made. So the mad parents boycott and write angry letters. I know, if they can't deal with that, they shouldn't read it, but they do anyway. I mean, why are rauncy TV programs protested when all people have to do is not watch them? PEOPLE ARE FRUGGING STUPID. PARENTS ARE OVERPROTECTIVE IDIOTS. They try to feed their children fantasy Disney worlds so as not to corrupt their fragile little brains.

There are plenty of children's books in which a child dies. I'm not going to take the time to name them but just because a child dies doesn't mean a book is not allowed to be released.

J: I suppose it depends on the editors and how many people read the book. Captiosus: And there's already an outcry against the deaths of M, Mr. B, Mrs.B, J and J, and parents take children's death 100x more seriously.

what about the Quagmire parents, and Olivia who got swallowed by a lion? Yes it does depend, but I don't think any bauds will die, even if they do the book will still be printed.

If parents didn't want their kids to read books about kids dying, then they wouldn't let their kids read them. He even warns the readers plenty of times, even if they sound more like entertainment. I mean, look at HP books 4 and 5. Those 2 were plenty dark, and a kid died in the 4th book (Cedric) and Sirius died in the 5th book.
I'm not saying that the Bauds are definately gonna get it in the end, but it's possible they, or the Quags could. even though I don't want it to end up that way.
EDIT: Theories I have read here, and in the books tell me that something will happen to the orphans.

*twick* Fine. I give up. The orphans are going to die. Which orphans? there are two sets. I believe 2 of the Quagmires or possibly all 3 will get it.
