I think at the end of one of the chapters in TAA (In all copies!) The word "Fortunate" is spelled wrong.
Also, in TRR, Uncle Monty says that Herpetology is the study of just snakes when it is really the study of all reptiles.
And also in TRR, there are toads and frogs, which of course are not reptiles. I think there are some other amphibians as well.
EDIT: And yesterday, I was at the store, and I saw the ASOUE Perilous Parlor game and on the back, above the USB code, it said "A Serious of Unfortunate Events".

In TGG, there was a typo with eyebrow (eybrow).
These thing are probably just mistakes, I think. I'd be VERY surprised if they were code or something.

I think there are some other amphibians as well. I never thought of his definition of herpetology as wrong, rather, I thought it was just that he was emphasizing the part that he enjoys the most. Obviously, what he studies covers more areas than just snakes, but it's clear he loves snakes the most. I've done the same thing lately, when telling people I might go into herpetology so I can study snakes... obviously, I'd be studying other animals, as well, but the snakes are what I would be most excited about. Also, herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians, so it's not wrong to have frogs and the like there. |

Weird. I have the Olaf picture swaping problem too. And in my copy of TCC, on the Ex Libris page the Bauderlaire's aren't in disguise.

In the Rare Edition note to page 6 (the first one), there is a typo as follows:
...it was always necessary to use to use a coaster...

My entire Wide Window book is upside down, but I think that's a pretty common mistake with books.

What do you mean by "upside down"? Are all the pages in upside down relative to the cover, or what? I think I've owned a book(though not ASoUE) with an error of that sort.

My friend bought a box set of books 7, 8, and 9, and the seventh and eighth "Ex Libris" pages were switched. Her copy of the 9th is fine, tho.
EDIT: My school edition of TWW has a different number style on the page number, and the chapter start pages in my school edition TMM have no page numbers at all..... *Slaps stupid people at Scholastic for doing this to her books*

Indeed, VioletBaudelaire13, Scholastic does a terrible job publishing the books. Example: The Wide Window's cover background is blurry, The Vile Village has a black ( :  binding, and The Slippery Slope's Scholastic version has the regular pages, but one fifth of the page is empty (the text on each page is small and squished into the top middle). |

Okay, I'll post my mistake here. In TCC, on my Ex Libris page, the Baudelaires are on the bottom where Olaf is supposed to be. I'm not sure this is a mistake though, because around the time the book came out (2002), I saw a pile of them in the bookstore, and they were all like that. But I think they fixed it when TSS came out.  Edit: Sorry if I'm bothering you, Dante.  That's actually not a mistake. Handler probably wasn't sure if the bottom picture was always Count Olaf, and the top picture was always the Baudelaires. He was probably thinking "Baudelaires on top, whoever is disguised on the bottom." Then he changed it to the Count Olaf-bottom, Baudelaire-top for the rest of the series. If that's the case, then mine must be a misprint. I've got Baudelaires on top, Olaf on the bottom. |
