It is weird that a gamers’ society would basically have the VFD insignia as their symbol. What’s that about?
Ok. This one’s a bit creepy. A while back, my father got a short and cryptic message from a stranger. It said: ‘you are leaving Europe, but where are you going?’ The letter was signed ‘Eric Baudelaire’
Another scary one: just today, me and my dad were flat-packing boxes when I saw some writing in chalk inside one of them. There was the number 36, an unknown letter, the letters UUO, and, in fancy handwriting, the initials J.S.

Some work I’m doing for school mentions preventing a disastrous fire in a hotel. The school itself which gave me this work has green as its main colour, just like VFD. Your school may be similar to Prufrock Prep. It is weird that a gamers’ society would basically have the VFD insignia as their symbol. What’s that about? My computer monitor is from them. Just like VFD, they have ROG, which is Republic of Gamers.

A YouTube comment I found.
This is just so coincidental. Also, a book I’m reading contains the names Josephine, Georgina, and Duncan as well as the expression ‘as the crow flies’.

So I logged into Netflix a couple of days ago, and the first thing I saw at the top of the page was Klaus. It doesn't seem to be about young Mr Baudelaire, though.

I once discovered a very detailed drawing of an eye in my friend’s house. That doesn’t seem too odd, except that the edges were singed.

I just watched a movie in which an orphan is sent to live with an uncle she’s never heard of, who lives in a mansion that, although not fully built of it, contains a lot of green wood. The mansion burns down. Also, the guardian in question is a clever and well-read man who has sort of given up on life, endlessly pining after his lost love.

This is strange ... I remember watching a movie with that name when I was a child. I don't remember the plot. But I remember it was the first film I saw involving a wheelchair ...I remember that I liked the movie.and I remember a scene of a girl (or a boy) walking back into the garden. This is weird ... I remember seeing a cartoon with the same scene. My childhood memories are confused now.

It is one of the great orphan stories, and must have been an inspiration to DH. It has been made into a film several times. In the book the couse does not burn down, though.

Hey friends! I popped in to say a quick hello to the forum for the first time in about a decade and I saw that this thread is still going! I can't believe it. I have a post on the very first page of this thread, way back from 2004, absurd! I definitely still clock real-life ASOUE coincidences all the time. Somewhat relatedly, and I swear I did not stop by just to self-promote, but I have a blog where I track real-life VFD findings over at vfdinthewild.tumblr.com/ which is how I carry on my eternal devotion of ASOUE these days. I love that we are all still in this.
