Eastern Catholic, Italo-Greek rite. Basically that means catholic mass but mostly in Greek. Eastern Catholicism uses a lot more icons and candles and incense and things, that's the only real diff. Oh yeah, and our priests used to marry until a few years ago.

Im LDS, or Mormon. Mormon is really just a nickname since we have The Book of Mormon. Most people dont think its a christian religion, but it is.

Oh, and does anyone here subscribe to the belief that the Christian God, Muslim God etc etc are all the same-- and that we all worship the same God? Err... sort of... I don't believe in God as any specific religion represents it, but I do think there's something out there... wait. I have a quote from a book somewhere that described it perfectly... I wrote it down... let me see if I can find it. "Let's just say I'm a suspecter. I suspect there may be someone who cares what happens to us. That's one step better than merely wishing and one step below hoping." A character says that in Xenocide and it fit me exactly so I jotted it down. Anyway, if indeed Something/one exists... it may be the same thing/one for all of us. That took WAY longer to say than I had planned.

I can understand agnosticism, but I can't for the life of me understand atheism.

And just a general question-- I've noticed a lot of you guys say you're a (insert religion) but then you say you don't believe all parts of the religion, or whatever. I know faith is uberly confusing-- everyone has questions but do you guys really consider it okay to pick and choose? To me it's like your setting conditions-- like you're saying okay, I believe in you but I'm not going obey you in terms of this or I believe you in but I don't believe you can do this. Correct me if I'm wrong but er-- I don't get that. I think that people should be allowed to believe what they want, and should not be forced to conform completely. Many little rules and such were not made based on God anyway, so I hear. Just curious: does anyone else call God "Eru"?

God doesn't make religion, people make religion based on their interpretation of God. There are bound to be a few flaws here and there.
Meh, just so you know I happen to be tired and don't know what I'm talking about.

Meh. I believe in my religion, and then I believe in things outside my religion that I'm not necessarily supposed to believe in. For instance I believe Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings are real, which I dunno if I'm supposed to. (Yes, I am a total d0rk, I know.)
I think I need sleep now or I'll start posting long, repetitive rants.

One reason why I'm not a good Catholic: Basically, what they teach you in CCD is that the reason people are good is because they'll get rewarded. Why aren't people good because it's the right thing to do? If the suckers in my church weren't hoping to go to heaven or whatever, I think most of them would be, well, bad.

My Jewish friend has an interesting point. She doesn't believe in Hell because if God is forgiving, why would he eternally condemn people?
I personally support the notion of Purgatory. (Even if it was apparently abolished from the Catholic church, as I was told.)

I'm Jewish...but I say that I'm a cultural Jew, considering I don't believe in God, or almost anything that came out of the Torah. I mean, it's a cute story... But I still celebrate the holidays, because it's my culture. It's like me saying, that, even if the whole white race suddenly became oppressive again (which I am completely against oppression), doesn't mean I wouldn't be white...I think. Confusing: I'm Jewish because that's who I am. But I don't believe in God or anything.

Christian, Methodist... But everyone now and then we I go to one of the huge churches in my area that isn't a denomination.
I get confused with the Cathholic stuff too.. I read this book once, umm whats it called, Revelation Unveiled and it talked about Cathlicism a little bit off to the side and how it was more pagan than Christian.. Must find that book..
