One thing I didn't like about the Passion is that they didn't take the time to make you care about Jesus as a human being- the way they did in the Judas movie. It would have been easier to make the watcher sympathetic if they had the flash backs to the sermon on the mount and such from the point of view of John or Mary Magdalene. It didn't make much sense to do it from Jesus' point of view, because the central figure in those stories was Jesus. It's like trying to look at yourself.

I don't believe in God and the Messiah!
Col.Tuna i am spending the night at euro's house and, what is the point of going to see(my mom gave me this perspective) a movie, if you already know how it ends? (I mean, what is the point of seeing this if you've read the Bible?) Unless you just want to see Monica Bellucci in the movie.

(I mean, what is the point of seeing this if you've read the Bible?) Unless you just want to see Monica Bellucci in the movie. I grew up reading the bible and the story of Jesus and his crucifiction, always imagining him having a swift death- but what many people dont realize, including myself, how brutal crucifictions were. Just to see Jesus kneeling while a Roman Soldier whips him accross the back tearing his skin off, seeing him having to carry that cross all the way to Golgotha without any resistance...it was just, you just cant find the words to describe it. It changes you're perspective on life and Jesus death and crucifiction and your life basicly. We're just a much more visually orintated society then we were years ago...

I agree. I had read about what crucifiction was like, and how long and painful a process it was, and all that Jesus went through before that, so in my head, I knew what he went through. Being able to see it, though, gave it a whole new impact. Even knowing what it was he went through, I still didn't fully realize just how bad it was until I saw it in the movie. Reading about someone going through something is a lot different than seeing it... when you read things, there's almost an automatic censor, so you don't imagine it as being that bad. When you see it, that doesn't happen.
