Now I know why on magazines and thing they say Great for potter fans because they think it's the same thing. There's a similar thing going on with all sorts of series. Ever heard of the Spiderwick Chronicles? They're being promoted as "great for Lemony Snicket fans" and "Snicket fans will love these books". Well, I didn't. They aren't like Lemony Snicket and in fact aren't very good.

I sortof liked spiderwick. My friend wants to boycott them because the desighns are almost the same as Snicket. They can be very confusing at times. A new one just came out. What the autthor tries to do is put the moderen kids in the story. But that never works. It is just not right if characters say moderen stuff like, "Hey dork!" or this quote from recent book, "Hey! It looks like you have got..." "Shutup!"

Ugh. That never works. Well, modern stuff would be like, "I slap you silly if you mess with me."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The love of my life has done something I absolutely HATE. Nearly getting into ASoUE because Klaus was drawn like he was Harry Potter.

Handler just had a kid lat year. He must like kids to some extent, having had one himself (well, his wife, anyways, he cant have teh baby, but lets not go there now).
I see the two series' as two different things, not as something to compare to. I see pros and cons of them both:
HP: Pros: Great character development and enough reading to rot my eyes and make me wanna watch more TV afterwards. The storys and plots are always great and Im always guessing till the end. cons: I mentioned above that the lengthyness is a good thing, but it can be a bad thing. Its like I could take 5 trips around the world and still be reading HP OotP. Also, the characters are fairly dimwitted sometimes, and rather like walking cliches.
ASoUE: Pros: Just about everything. Not only and I laughing at all of the great humor, but Im on the edge of my seat while reading the book, waiting to find out mysteries and see what happens to those poor kids this time. Cons: The books are short, which is sad, because I go out and buy the book, read it nonstop (my fault, I only break to eat and use the bathroom) and then Im done in like 1 or 2 days. Also, there isnt much character developement, except with Sunny, but Im gonna read TGG when it comes out and I am sure we can expect more of that from it.
And lets put the two series' apart like this: closer to reality and still farfetched mystery books (ASoUE), farther from reality and more serious and convincing (HP).
BTW: The person who wrote that book review above should be burned at the stake!!! Or we can drop brass lamps on his/her head!!!

Hee Hee Olaf's assistant! All I can say is praise! People are not completely involved with HP as we r with ASOUE. I must say, it tends to get teadious with the length! Harry is a little angel, though I do kinda have a soft spot in the 5th book when he screams at everyone.

I've never heard of the Spiderwick Chronicles but it makes me mad they did that.I also saw this other book called "Pure Magic" and the critics said "Lemony Snicket meets Harry Potter..." Something like that anyway. I didn't read it because it was just a remake. My friend read it (one that likes ASOUE) and he said it was the exact same thing, just with some HP, too. (Where are you all getting my avatar?! I know I didn't take it since I didn't pick it. Go figure.)

I've read the first two Spiderwick books, and they are not Lemony Snicket rip-offs. Or for that matter, Harry Potter rip-offs. But they aren't very good. I don't much like Artemis Fowl. Lemony rules. I love Artemis Fowl. The books are so funny.

I think Liam is better than Daniel....How someone said (I don't have good memory), Daniel is only beautiful eyes, and Liam is a better actor and have a better voice.
