Ever have a coincidence relating to Daniel's The Basic Eight or Watch Your Mouth or Adverbs?
At someone else's house, I saw the name "Cyndi Glass", and a phone number to go with it. I was spooked.

Having read Watch Your Mouth and/or The Basic Eight, have you encountered any similarities between those books and real life? Using my previous example, there is a character in WYM called Cyn Glass. I saw the name Cyndi Glass, and saw a connection. There are several other "Coincidence" threads on other topics throughout the forum.

I'm not sure if having a dinner party counts because the initial inspiration was the Basic Eight. We're dressing up and getting flowers and fancy music and all that.
I knew someone nammed Flannery.. maybe I'll think of something better later.

An R.E. (Religious Education) teacher at our school had the last name Flannery...

I've read TB8 but not WYM. A while ago I obtained a collection of Edward Gorey's works, called Amphigorey Also. It includes a story called "The Epiplectic Bicycle", in which are the lines "Embley and Yewbert were on the field, hitting each other with croquet mallets". Or something very much like that. I'll scan it later if I have time. Edit Four Hours Later(or Ladder): The scan! I know someone named Natasha who has dyed-black hair. And I once image-searched on "croquet mallet" for no particular reason and found this really Flannery-esque picture:

Don't forget that your best friend is Natasha. Ah, yes. And Hermione Baudelaire says my life is like TB8 because I went to Hawaii with a Natasha and a Kate. I still haven't read it *dispairs* so I cannot prove this theory. In the past two weeks, I've heard two different people say "Watch your mouth"

*Major Watch Your Mouth Spoilers*
I was going out witth a girl once, and over the summer I stayed with her in her folks place. But her Dad wouldn't let me stay in the same room as her when we arrived even though I'd been living with her for a couple of months.
Then after a comment her Dad mde after dinner one night I bacame convinced that they were "making love" (as Mandy-my girlfriend demanded we call it) in the room beneath the attic room where I was staying.I thought I could hear the pants and moans of incestuous love.I'm ashamed to admit that I found it quite arousing.
Then a giant Golem came and killed everyone in the family.

I heard another person say "Watch Your Mouth" to someone else. I wish they'd say it to me.
I'd reply "That's suggestive..."

Lol.
On the plus side I finally found a copy of The Basic Eight in my local bookstore yesterday.Really sweet cover (unlike my WYM which is pink and crap, but also was the only copy around.). Can't wait to finish college for the day so I can finish reading it( only 3hrs left).
Back to the topic- I once walked in on my teacher getting it on with an assistant. And me and my group of friends thought we were better than everyone else.

Is your WYM peach and green with clowny things? That's what mine is like. I volunteer at a Christian summer day camp, at the craft table.
