i think that in the book 13 beatrice is going to be either mentioned or seen 2 times. if you remember on the double sided poster there is a sign of beatrice broken into two. This could mean that there are two "signs" of beatrice. It could also mean that beatrice had to sides to her. Villain or Volunteer. And since the sign is broke directly diagnally, it could mean that her heart (like the sign is broken near the heart, or middle) was broken by someone or y something she had to do.
Also if you take each of the first letters of the books and for THE END, t and e:
b r w m a e v h c s g p t e
one of the words of the anagram are vamps (which could mean vampire bats like in the poster and it might me in The End) and swamp (which might be important in The End).
Do you have any opinions or questions or answers?

. Do you have any opinions or questions or answers? My opinion is that this theory is too obscure to real -- therefore you are pulling our legs.

This goes with the "R-is-a-traitor/someone-in-disguise theory" In one of the Letters, R includes a note saying that it "was mistakenly delivered to her and that the bats (or cats?) need better trainers"
For all we know, she attacked the bat(s) delivering the letter and intercepted it, read it, then sent it so that no one would be suspicious. . . ?

I have a theory about what the sonnet means! If I'm right, then the sonnet means that Beatrice never really loved Lemony, and she just went along with it because she didn't know what else to do. Anyway, here's my edited version of the sonnet: Lemony Snicket is tied up in my mind, As if to keep my true love out of my eyes. I cannot speak to Bertand (maybe Olaf?...), for whom I care. A hatpin serves as part of my disguise (she dropped the hatpin, to show that she wanted to have a RBF with Lemony, so it's part of her act).
In the play (play = real life), my role is Beatrice. (These next two lines are just fillers, so I'm not going to post them) ...As if sharps pins are hidden in their hats. (Another referance to hats and pins = more weight on the important of the hatpin)
My co-star lives on what we call a brae. His solitude might not be just as act (I don't think that she meant her co-star in the actual PLAY, but Lemony Snicket. Since she's reffering real life as a 'play', LS is obviously her 'co-star'.) A piece of mail fails to arrive one day. This distressing emotional story's based on fact (This made me think... maybe Beatrice sent a letter to LS confessing that she didn't love him, but Olaf, Esme or R. intercepted it, so Lemony kept on going on thinking that BB loved him, too).
The curtain falls just as the (Lemony Snicket's) puzzle unties. The silence broken by the one (Beatrice) who dies (I think that Dramatic Irony took place here, when Beatrice put those two sentences in for no reason - but in the end it actually took place. I think that when Lemony said "Count Olaf-" to Beatrice, he said: "Count Olaf told me about the letter, Beatrice. He told me how he stopped it from coming. I'm so very sorry, Beatrice, how I thought that you acutally loved me. Before, when you stopped talking to me, I thought it was because of the arson that Olaf framed me of doing...", And after that Beatrice ran or something like that. I think that after that, 'LS to BB #6' was a warning that Count Olaf was planning to kill Beatrice, Bertand, Violet, Klaus and Sunny (without knowing that Violet's (theorized) twin, Beatrice, was being raised by some member of V.F.D. (maybe to protect the Baudelaire fortune)) because he recently found out who stole the Sugar Bowl from Esme, but of course Beatrice didn't get the coded message from Lemony).I really like that interpretation. Well done!

I have a different theory, trying to use more of the evidence in the letters. I think Beatrice did love Lemony, which makes their break-up even more tragic.
1) "I cannot speak to one for whom I care... hatpin serves as part of my disguise" Because R must take up duties as Duchess of Winnipeg after the death of her mother, jobs at the newspaper are shuffled around and Lemony becomes a drama critic. It might be thought improper for a critic to openly date an actress whose plays he reviews, so they will have to be more careful. They use the hatpin signal to determine when it is safe to meet.
2) "A piece of mail fails to arrive one day." This is Lemony's bat-carried letter that doesn't get to Beatrice for a long time. It eventually gets to her with a note from R (or R's impostor). This messes up Lemony's date to propose to Beatrice.
3) "A prick of fear" -- there is some danger to Lemony as a result of the misdirected letter, possibly from the co-star who is not really one of them (i.e. on the other side of the schism).
Beatrice uses this sonnet to try to warn Lemony during a performance but he fails to read or understand it. She writes a long letter which breaks up with him publicly (for his protection) but she conceals clues in the 13 questions, suggesting he find and read the sonnet to really understand the situation.
But Lemony is heartbroken and takes the letter at face value. He goes away, and Beatrice eventually marries another. He only finds and reads the sonnet years later, in a library archive. Now he understands, but "everything else has unraveled."

You know, in LS to BB #5, it says "UNTIL C. REALIZES THAT S. IS NOT WORTHY OF HIS LOVE". Does this prove that Charles and Sir are homosexual? Or is it brotherly love?

I've read this all and it has taken me over an hour...the white writing was burning my eyes....haha....
Okay, so I have this really odd theory, which is probably incorrect, but here it goes:
When Snicket, in his letter about the classroom-time with Olaf, says that he is spending time in "My Silence Knot" (Lemony Snicket) perhaps he doesn't mean daydreaming, but an alter-ego or something. This would explain the whole Daniel Handler being Snicket.
And why in the meeting in the unauthorized autobiography, Daniel pretends to be appearing for Snicket while Snicket is actually there. He forgets himself.
Basically, there are two LS's as well: Daniel Handler, the one who has Lemony tied up in his basement (spurious LS), and the REAL Lemony Snicket.
That might also explain why Beatrice dumped Lemony (because she confused him with Daniel, who was a pyro?) and then wrote him that note which asked him obvious questions like: who were his siblings and what is an anagram?
Another theory of mine is even more unbelievable, slightly Secret Windowish:
Daniel Handler ties LS up in his basement, makes up Beatrice loving him instead of her loving LS...that's why he pretends he's LS. Daniel knows she's alive, so he stalks the Baudelaires with some insane desire to find Beatrice, who he believes betrayed him, and kill her and the Baudelaires. So maybe Daniel is actually Beatrice #2 who is stalking Lemony in those letters?
Yeah, that made little sense...just thought it would be a really odd twist if Lemony ended up to be this twisted psycho.
(No offense if Lemony actually does read this stuff! I remember that post earlier about how he might read our fanfiction...*shudders*...mine, Starvation, would give him a bit of a shock...haha....)
Comments? Feel free to call me absolutely nuts.

You are absolutely nuts!!!! The more I hear these theories about things like Daniel Handler IS Lemony Snicket or Lemony Snicket IS Count Olaf, the more I'm starting to lean that way too. Obviously somebody is not who we think they really are. You may be on to something.

Interms of the second theory, it would make sense, as Beatrice 2 Seems to know quite alot about Lemony and his goingabouts.
I'm unsure about the DH=LS in ASOUE world, as Daniel has never been mentioned in anything except LSUA, but its surely possible.

YOU MAY BE RIGHT! I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND IT AT FIRST BUT OMG SIR AND CHARLES ARE GAAAY! *sorry* But wow, I've been looking at some of those initials in that answer to Question #9 in LS TO BB 5. I never really interpreted as them being important, but Daniel Handler does have some characters in one of his adult books (I don't remember which) who are gay, and yeah, yeah YEAH! in that same letter he mentions "I think it will be a long time until a woman can marry a woman" or something like that. Oooh... my brand new theory....

They share a hotel room and a steambath, Charles says "I love you, Sir" and they hold hands during their final appearance in TPP, but Handler leaves it uncertain. I'd say they are an ambiguously gay duo.

Oh, and regarding the LS=DH thing, unlikely, as Handler's not really a part of the series at all. It would be awkward to introduce him in the last book. Not completely impossible, but definitely unlikely.

When did Charles say "I love you, Sir"?
There's definitely something between those two. They remind me of Mr Burns and Smithers from The Simpsons.
I like RockSunner's theory about the sonnet. "Like" as in "it's a horribly depressing idea, and therefore likely to be correct."

AHAH ! One more proof that Béatrice is NOT the Baud's Mom ! In TBL, Lemony says that peppermints love Béatrice's allergies... And in TWW, he specifies that the allergy the Bauds share comes from the Baudelaire family. So, we can conclude that Béatrice is part of the Baudelaire family by her blood... Now, let's focus : would Bertrand had married someone of his family ? I think not. Even if DH is very interested in the subject of incest, that seems very unlikely. Therefore, that points out towards the "Bea=Baud's aunt" theory.
