Personally, I'd rather they were just reprints with no extra material; that way we don't actually have to buy them and essentially pay for the same book with a handful of pages that probably won't really resolve anything (like barely anything in the BBRE ended up being used). And on that note, we don't actually know that they'll have extra material; in the linked article, they're just described as paperback reprints, and there's no mention of extra material, and the extended page counts on Amazon don't really prove anything, partly as Amazon's never really been reliable on page counts, and partly because they might have changed the font size or font type or just printed it differently. Still, it'll be interesting to see new covers for them; I wonder if they'll have new illustrations, or just the same illustration but with the framing restyled.
Edit: Also, I'm wondering if these will actually be coming out in the U.K.; I'll maybe e-mail Egmont sometime when we actually know a little more about the books. Or if somebody e-mails HC about the books they could ask if they know whether they'll be published over here.

SPOILERS may be in this post, just some extra caution.
I believe that it may be A Series of Unfortunate Events from The End.

You mean the book the Baudelaires found on the island? I doubt that very much. From the descriptions, it sounds like bits of wisdom, not a journal of actual events.

Yeah, it was just a thought. And it was what I first thought when I read the title.

heh....there's even a wikipedia article now. by the sounds of it, it seems kind of lame, no offense. "a romantic trying to live the life of a pirate"...err...no thanks. I was hoping for more of a Asoue related book.

Luckily that stuff was gone by the time I got there.
Now we sit back and watch the Wikipedia article get swamped with false claims, photoshopped images from the books, and claims of people being Klaus from the future over the next few months.

I think, even if the only changes in the reprints are the illustrations, it would be owrth it. I saw an illustration of a scene in TBB at a book fair that was obviously done by a post-TBB Helquist and I thought about how excellent it would be if Helquist could sort of "redo" all his old illustrations. Plus, he could fix the way all the eyes look.

I was hoping for more of a Asoue related book. That's not Horseradish, but it is Daniel Handler's next and (I believe) currently unnamed adult book, about pirates. Somebody must have confused the two.

It's Wikipedia. I'm not surprised.

It's Wikipedia. I'm not surprised. Wikipedia = mostly reliable Wikipedia on matters relating to ASOUE = mostly unreliable

Wow, now we have two quotes describing Horseradish (H:BTYCA?)! What a plethora of information. A collection of wise and alarming Snicketisms titled "Horseradish: Bitter Truths You Can't Avoid " will be published in spring 2007.www.startribune.com/384/story/738369.html

Isn't "Bitter Truths You Can't Swallow" better rather than "avoid"?
I hope this book answers some questions with these Snicketisms, otherwise it's more or less pointless.

[glow=red,2,300]The titles the other "reprints" of the two books have, like Or Orphans, sounds like something Olaf would say, so maybe they're the first two books from his point of view?[/glow]

I like it when authors explain things, and tie up loose ends.
