Or maybe they're from the bauds pov. We have been told that LS didnt get it all correct. If you're referring to the quote from TBL, then that's not entirely true. What we've been told is that LS's version differs from what BB2 heard from the Baudelaires. It's possible that the Baudelaires never told Beatrice the whole truth about their adventures... after all, the Baudelaire parents never told the children the whole truth about their adventures. Or, it's possible that you're right. Most likely, it's a combination of the two.

It's possible that the Baudelaires never told Beatrice the whole truth about their adventures... The baby had heard about danger, too, mostly from the register of crimes, follies, and misfortunes of mankind from which the Baudelaires read out loud each evening, although they had not told the infant the whole story. She did not know all of the Baudelaires' secrets, and indeed there were some she would never know.-Page 4, Chapter Fourteen

She did not know all of the Baudelaires' secrets, and indeed there were some she would never know.-Page 4, Chapter Fourteen Thiis quote also shows that baby Beatrice learned a lot about the Baudelaire's story in her first year (she was a very smart baby). This supports my theory that she was separated from them by shipwreck soon after they left the island, because it reduces the objection that she couldn't have learned enough in that time.

Wikipedia has its release date as May 1st, 2007. It's not been confirmed anywhere else, though.
Where's Handler stopping next on his tour? Does anyone want to ask him about this? I will if no one else has the chance.

Wikipedia has its release date as May 1st, 2007. It's not been confirmed anywhere else, though. I think that's how Amazon listed it, although I believe some of the articles for it just said "May," and Amazon I think sticks in the first of a month sometimes when it doesn't know the precise date. According to this list, it looks like Ann Arbor, MI, on Tuesday, with others shortly after. I'd ask him about it, but I'm pretty sure his tour doesn't involve a cruise across the Atlantic. Speaking of which, I'm wondering how the British releases of these will go - the reprints in particular, as I wouldn't normally imagine Egmont would bother, although my obvious concern would be whether we'll get Horseradish (and TCID, for that matter) late or at all. If anybody e-mails HC (or etc.) anytime soon, it'd be good if you could ask if they have plans for a British release, or I'll e-mail Egmont in a month or so (I asked about The Composer Is Dead once and they said they didn't know - although that was a while ago. I want to give them sufficient time after we learn about something, as neither the reprints nor Horseradish have been officially confirmed by HC yet, to my knowledge).

I asked Handler about the release (North American, mind you) of The Composer is Dead in early September, and he said it didn't have a release date yet, sorry. He think's its scheduled for release, by HC standards, for early next year. No news about the Egmont editions, though.

I don't really see the point of this book if it does indeed exist since Handler told us in The End that we had all the answers we could hope for. If this resolves the sugar bowl mystery or sheds more light on what happens to the Bauds and Baby Beatrice then fine but to be honest I think Handler should have worked this stuff into The End.
I think we are seeing a case of can't-let-go-itis. Tony Blair has it too.

The "Or, Orphans" and "Or, Murder" release date seems to be different now. It's 8th May 2007.

these titles are like Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, right?

Or Moby-Dick or The Whale, I imagine. I think such a titling scheme may not have been uncommon at the time; I'm sure I've seen it elsewhere, although I can recall no more examples.
