![](http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q78/busheney/tbl-city.jpg) While looking at the cave side of my TBL poster, I happened to notice something curious about the image of the city skyline with two prominent buildings and plumes of smoke. Probably a coincidence, but people have suspected Snicket of including symbolism along these lines. ![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fd/National_Park_Service_9-11_Statue_of_Liberty_and_WTC_fire.jpg) Discuss.

It's probably too coincidental to be accidental; however, . . . hm. There's also a difference in the shape of the buildings and their distance apart: they don't seem to be as connected to each other as the WTC towers.

"Osama bin Laden" has thirteen letters - just like "Lemony Snicket" (and "Daniel Handler" and much else). Both Osama and Lemony are fugitives from justice who often hide out in faraway caves in rural territory, constantly fleeing the authorities.
Coincidence? You decide.

That's an interesting coincedence but I just assumed that picture was similar to these chimneys near where I live. ![](http://www.blather.net/abroad/archives/IMG_5155_ringsend_500.jpg)

Well, I suppose that man who accused Mr. Handler of encouraging terrorism was correct after all. And we've been supporting a man who supports terrorism by not supporting that first man's theories.
Well-spotted, Antenora.

Wow, that is very odd, I would have never, ever looked at the picture that way...I don't know though. It just might be coincidence...or maybe it was just saying that something in the city was on fire at the time, like the Baudelaire Mansion. Like Dear Dairy said, the buildings are a tad too far apart, but who is to say that the towers in Snicket's picture aren't the WTC towers?

I think it could be a possibility. Nice catch.
About the distance and shape, does the picture really have to be that detailed?

About the distance and shape, does the picture really have to be that detailed? Triangle Eyes has a point...the first building even has that little antena coming off of it too...
