then you're faux goths. my sister hates faux goths and faux punks. there are a few in the 8th grade at my school...pretty much everyone in my grade is preppy. but i do go to prep school....but i dont go to abercrombie. it scares me. i usually go to jc penny or gap or old navy or bloomingdales or nordtroms but NEVER abercrombie.

Sweets, I was wearing black before you were born. It doesn't make you a beautiful and unique snowflake...and it doesn't afford you respect nor power.
It is slimming though.

All this stuff about dressing oddly and getting pierced in order to be an lovely individual snowflake is just silly. Because everybody is an individual whether they like it or not, it's just shallow to act out in order to make others actively aware of your individuality.
Edit: Hey, Mr. Kobolos, you're back. You've probably already noticed that though.

I would not say I'm goth, though I do like wearing the style. Not to be cool, and not to get noticed, but because I like it. If I were doing it to be cool, I'd probably have worn my trenchcoat during the winter and frozen, rather than look stupid in my big and bulky winter coat that actually keeps me warm.

When I went on holiday to visit my grandparents last year, I forgot to take a jacket, and it was freezing there! My nan gave my sister a cardigan (a really ugly, red, old lady styled one) but I said I didn't want one and that I'd be alright because the jackets she had were really ugly, but I regretted it when we went shopping out in the cold! I do like to look cool and fashionable, though I do wear what I like, even if what I like happens to be the latest fashion:) but there are alot of popular clothes out that I don't wear because I don't like them, so I'm not a total fashion addict I don't think.

I've been thinking, what is the difference between punk and goth? Because I realized I don't really know the difference, and I'd like to find out what it is before I make an idiot of myself in public.

Because I realized I don't really know the difference, and I'd like to find out what it is before I make an idiot of myself in public. goths- black punks- plaid nudists- nothing Hehe, sorry... was inspired by the Unauthorized Autobiography for that last one... I think that goths tend to like black and poetry and death-related things, punks like metal and music and rave-related things. HOWEVER, there are a countless number of punk-goths in the world, who are a mix of both...

Would you say that gothic is a 'style' or a 'life style'?
Anyway, punks like that heavy metal music, they're rebellious and they don't dress in black as much, they mix colour too.
