Sorry you missed it, Dear Dairy. I'm sure you would know, though: was it supposed to be "weren't" or "wasn't?" For some reason I thought it was "weren't," but I'm starting to think otherwise.

It's weren't. Subjunctive mood.
Says Wikipedia: "The past subjunctive is used after the verb to wish: I wish he were here or I wished he were there."

YES! Oh you have no idea how happy that makes me. Here I was worried that Mr. Handler would be repulsed by our inability to write something in proper English when really every word was just as it should have been.

I was gonna add mine but I couldnt get it ready and scanned and all, and pictures wasnt cutting it. ;-; However I may be seeing Daniel Handler next week so I'm gonna make/get him a gift and give it to him then. ^^;;
