Interesting choices, Sora. I considered "Drowning" for TGG, before realizing no drowning ever actually occurred. But now it strikes me there is in fact some metaphorical drowning in the novel. Does anyone have ideas for non-paperback-styled titles, though? A lot of books are titled after quotations from particularly thematically-relevant portions of dialogue. TPP could be Smoke and Mirrors, for example. The End could be Rocking the Boat, although that might give the wrong impression; it could also be either Tree of Knowledge or Tree of Life. Half-joking titles: TBB: New MoneyTRR: Dead SilenceTEE: The Dark Side (of Olaf) TVV: Gathering DustTSS: On Thin IceTGG: Turning TablesTPP: Into the Fire or Trials and TribulationsTE: Eye of the Storm or Weathering the Storm |

Oh, now some of those are excellent. Eye of the Storm is perfect and encodes so many references. TGG's is a good sampling from the book, too, although I might call it Turning the Tables (i.e. with a "the" in the middle); it's a shame the ice in TSS isn't actually particularly thin or On Thin Ice would be a perfect title, too. Which sort of makes me think that Knife Edge or maybe On a Knife Edge would work somewhere, perhaps for TRR.

TE has a lot of ironic titles going for it because of the apples and the island. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," "Bad/Rotten apple," "Apple of my eye," "Fish out of water," "In the same boat," "Miss the boat," "A storm is brewing" (and variations thereof) ....
TSS has thin ice when the falls start melting - although I suppose not for very long . On a Knife Edge would be perfect for TRR, or even THH.

I like In Deep Waters. It reminds me of another saying that might fit that book - Still Waters Run Deep.

These are sort of the titles I made up a while back, if they ever did finish the provisional titles for the paperback series. They're kind of silly but I did it just for fun.
After TAA:
6. The Ersatz Elevator; or, Trapped!
7. The Vile Village; or, Framed!
8. The Hostile Hospital; or, Operation!
9. The Carnivorous Carnival; or, Mauled!
10. The Slippery Slope; or, Survivor!
11. The Grim Grotto; or, Poisoned!
12. The Penultimate Peril; or, Burned!
13. The End; or, Finale!

Clearly texts from the school of thought that brought us, in the U.A., The Most Handsome Man in the World and Why, I Believe I've Become Even More Handsome! Actually, I seem to recall that some of the movie spin-off books might've had back-cover synopses written by Olaf. Maybe there should have been Olaf editions of the main series, too. I'm sure they'd have such titles.

hmm this thread has certainly got me thinking and I came up with these. They wouldn't make good book names in real life but still had fun coming up with something different TBB = An Inventor, a Reader & a Biter TRR = A Car Crash, Reptiles & an Uncle TWW = A Lake, Peppermints & a Window TMM = A Mill, Coupons & an Opticians TAA = A Violin, Punishments & A Brat TEE = An Elevator, Doilies & a Red Herring TVV = A Fountain, Crows & a Jail Cell THH = A Hospital, Balloons & a File TCC = A Carnival, Freaks & a Crystal Ball TSS = A Caravan, Snow Scounts & a Sugar Bowl TGG = A Submarine, Mushrooms & a Question Mark TPP = A Hotel, Sunbathing & Concierges TE = An Island, Horseradish & a Storm |

Don't undersell yourself, Groge. That's a pretty nice titling scheme you've set up, and I could definitely see those working as alternative titles or subtitles like the paperback ones.
