I think right now it's more important to get the submission page, and the "Why I like aSoUE page" set up. The latter in particular is important; I'll write a potential example tomorrow, but for now I'm bowing out for the night.

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to start that now; the "Why ASOUE is great" is the easy part. If there are no complaints, I will start the thread for that tomorrow.

The "Why ASOUE is great" thread is really a fantastic idea. I'll have a good think when I'm in bed.

Agreed! And I certainly have no objection if you'd like to start the thread for "Why ASoUE is Great" thread tomorrow, Sherry Ann. It'll give those of us who have yet to complete any fanfic/artwork/songs and those who won't be doing anything fanfic/artistic/musical-wise a chance to contribute.

I don't see why we can't do both a thread and a pdf. ? We could send him the pdf. and if he woud like to see the making process we can give him a link to the thread(s). I personally think we should use the thread to gather ideas then format it.

First things first, I checked. There shouldn't be a problem with fanfiction. As for the format issue, having both a thread and a .pdf might be a good failsafe compromise.
Secondly, do we need any examples for the "why I like aSoUE" segment? Actually I'm now thinking that people don't need to provide reasons if they can't put it into words, so we'll also accept comments to the tune of "I love this series! Thank you!" But we'd probably be looking more for things like "ASoUE made me more literate / got me interested in philosophy / has engaging characters / is the most sophisticated children's story I've ever read / makes me write terrible things."

I have a lot of reasons like that. "Aunt Josephine helped me realise that I don't have to be scared of certain foods (even though I'm not fully over that fear yet)" is one of them ;D

Dante: You're right, doing both a thread and a .pdf is the best way to go.
mykindeditor: I also like your idea of sending DH an additional link to the making-of procedure.
Sherry Ann: I'll go have a look at that thread now, as I have a few thoughts I'd like to express.

If we end up doing a pdf., mykindeditor, it'd be wonderful if you could do that. For now, though, let's take it one step at a time.

If we end up doing a .pdf, which I suspect we will, your services will certainly be required, mykindeditor.

Can I suggest something? Can we make an ASoUE and Daniel Handler video tribute on Youtube???

I suspect most of us wouldn't be too savvy at that sort of thing, but if you were willing to put one together, we could include that in the package.
