I don't think anyone is looking to steal the Great Unknown, either. If "Why would anyone want to steal this statue?" is a wrong question, perhaps the right question is "What is inside this statue?" or "Why would anyone steal the contents of this statue?" If indeed the subject lines are wrong questions, I suspect they would be wrong not because of something in the contents of the question, but because something else was happening at the time the question took place. I.e., the narrator is worrying about a statue when he should have been worrying about the kidnappers outside his bedroom window.

Or perhaps he's worryng about the wrong statue. Well, someone must be trying to steal the one we have depicted, which is a good reason to be concerned, I think. 1. There is something hidden in the statue - possible link to figurine at Caligari Carnival. 2. The statue is a representation of the GU. 3. The statue corresponds with a certain letter, similiar to the pictures in TBL. 4. The statue doesn't exist. No, not really. It just seemed as though the list needed something surrealist.

The promos and the cover are all just red herrings and have nothing to do with the actual book. When do you think we'll receive the next promotion?

Its been three weeks since the last one. Not long now, I suspect.

Yes, probably about a few days or so. "804.1" came two weeks after "It's For Thee". Maybe the next promotion after that will be in four weeks, the next one after that in five weeks, six weeks etc. However, that's too much speculation on too little fact.

That does seem possible, but if they are spacing them out in such a way, I hope the promotions contain a bit more infomation.

Yes, I hope that as the promotions progress they will become less vague. This may be a bit too much to ask, but perhaps we'll receive one or two pages from WCTBATH with half the words blocked out, like the one of the Nameless Novel promotions.

I'm pretty confident that there'll be another promo soon; they're just spacing them out a lot more. They're unlikely to have an unlimited amount of material, so after the first phase they're pacing themselves. It's all very well asking for more concrete information, though, but there is such a thing as giving away too much; it's hard balancing what's a hint with what's a genuine spoiler. Still, I hope they're looking at the example of The Nameless Novel, as that made us all very happy.

I don't see why they would want to make the promotions less vague, if the purpose of a promotion is to intrigue without giving away. Perhaps it is a rather cynical outlook, but I suspect that by October we'll have a large mass of disconnected text and illustrations brought together only by TFQ itself.
Edit: Yes, that's quite cynical. I suppose there could be a chance of gleaning something from the website, too, if one is ever created.

Judging by the rate of things, I wouldn't be surprised if they launched the website just a month before the book's release.

Judging when a full website is launched is kind of a subjective matter. If all they want for the website is to be purely informational as an index of the books and where to buy them, then they could really just save it until launch day. I'm not overestimating the amount of content they might want to include. LemonySnicket.com and UnfortunateEvents.com took a long time to get good, although naturally our expectations are higher because those have since matured into their final form. But again, it's a question of expectations; they aren't really obliged to make the official website anything too complex. Ditto their promotional campaign. Most books release in quiet obscurity, and the release campaign for The End, for example, was a lot more minimal than this. (More minimal? I could refine that phrase a bit more, but you know what I mean.)

If a website is launched before the release date itself, I'd not be surprised if the promotions we've been receiving were made available to the public eye and called content.

Well, to be honest, I kind of think they should do that. It'd be nice to have a scrapbook of sorts for easy reference to this material.

There are plenty of tumblrs and blogs already creating that sort of database, though. And I imagine 667 will do something similar as October approaches (only for archival purposes). I'm sure LSATWQ.com will want to recycle this as often as possible, however, and that's understandable. I'm more curious about how the site will be laid out, and what sort of mood they'll try to convey.
