Literally was just about to post this photo. Do we agree that this is a seahorse? Is there any mention of seahorses in ASOUE? Could this be a statuette and some what related to the statuette stolen from Caligari Carnival?

I noted that it almost makes me think of a Lachrymose Leech, mainly due to the teeth and size, though what that would mean I'm not sure.
Wasn't it a "figurine" which was stolen from Caligari? Not trying to argue semantics, but it seems like something that significant would remain consistent.

I think it may be informative to bear in mind that ASoUE included - as noted - figurines which concealed important evidence. I also think it's relevant and probably not entirely coincidental that the statuette here has a bit of a Lachrymose Leech look, although for those who think there's a connection, you could also claim it's a figurative representation of the Great Unknown. By the way, this thing's also on the cover of the book, so it's probably highly significant.

I'm sorry you're right: I've been reading the french translations while abroad and they use the word statuette rather than figurine. It's unlikely to be that then. It also may have nothing to do with ASOUE as we know it at all, and simply a clue to the new content of LSATWQ.

Whoa I was just about to post this too! I just saw the email. I wonder whose statue this is...It looks like a bloodthirsty seahorse.

So it has begun....how exciting! Hopefully (just hopefully) this might get to be a regular thing now, maybe not everyday, like with TPP, but every week (?) As for "Statue" it depends what they define statue as. A full size statue, or a figurine as mentioned above? This is also drawn, clearly be a child- Lemony? And in a commonplace book, perhaps?

I feel as if this is one of those statues that comes in pairs of two, like the two lion statues that may guard the entrance to a palace, for instance.

I agree with jman, I wonder if it's part of a set? I want one in bookend size.

The link doesn't work for me, but "Gem Heist" would definitely be a big clue.

Difficult to extrapolate without further data. But I'll definitely pay close attention to the URL of any images in further e-mails...

I don't know if it's worth noting, but it also says "A" gem heist. Also, I could have sworn there was some mention of a seahorse statue in asoue, but maybe I'm just thinking of the frog lamp or something. The fact that it's done on graphing paper is a bit odd too.
