There may be a slight delay over the next few days as tomorrow morning I'm having my eye procedure thing-y (See the temporary departure thread for more info), and I have no idea what ,my vision will be like. However, even If I cant see all that well, I can still type blindfolded, so the writing will continue!!!

Oh my god, I just had the most amazing thought... if green meteorites crash down on the Earth, you'll be like whathisface in the Day of the Triffids... that would be so freaking cool!!!

I just noticed that I haven't commented on chapter 7 yet! The story is still good but confusing, especially all the initials. I really have no idea who all these people are. Maybe you should make an alphabetical list of the characters for the stupid people like me I hope your eyes will get better soon!

I admire the fact that you went to the effort to work your problems into your profile, though.

Sorry if this chapter is a bit of a dissapointment. Reading over it I find it... a bit unnecesary. Not much happens. The Ending is good though....
Chapter Eight
Samuel and William were in there office discussing a man called Dante, and also the man who tried to kill Dante, as well as his brother. Also, they proffered to be called S and G, even though G is not William’s real name.
The topic of conversation had just turned towards the whereabouts of I, E, and possibly O, when they were interrupted by a knock in the door.
‘What is it’ shouted William, or Officer Guffin, or G.
‘There’s a man here to see you.’
‘Well tell him I’m very busy at the moment and to go away.’
‘He says he knows where Mr Poe is.’
‘Well tell him I’m very busy at the moment and to go away.’
‘Erm.. Excuse me.’ said a voice from beyond the door, and David Faraday pushed his way in. ‘I think we should talk now.’
‘D!’ said Samuel, with a shocked look on his face
‘What on earth are you doing here?’ Guffin walked up to David.
‘I….Have some information.’
‘Leave us.’ Samuel said to the woman, who left. He turned to David ‘Who did you find us?’
‘Er… well… erm.’
‘Doesn’t matter. What do you want?’ he asked.
‘I need to talk to Mister M.’
‘How do you know he’s here?’
‘Er.. Well. I do.’
‘What is he doing? What is he planning.’
‘I,…er. I’ll tell you if I can talk to him.’
Gufin spoke up ‘Do you think we’re that stupid?’
‘What?’
‘I expect you’ve got some sort of code. Something to tell him. Some… plan. We’ve finally captured him, and we are not letting him go.’
David gave a small chuckle ‘Hah. William, We aren’t VFD. We don’t use codes. We don’t lie. And I promise that if you take me to him I will tell you what you want to know.’
There was a long pause.
‘Fine.’ Guffin Said. ‘Samuel, I think you should go back the way you came and tell…. Well, tell them what’s happened. David, I don’t know what game your playing-’
‘Lets just do this warty.’ he said, and he and David left the room.
Samuel waited a moment, pulled a sheet of paper from Guffin’s desk, before leaving the way he came.
Violet Baudelaire entered Guffins office unwelcome. Davids plan had worked, and the office was empty.
She only had a few minutes to find the correct information as to where Mr Poe was being held, before Guffin would return.
She begin by reading through the pieces of paper on Guffins desk. Many of the things seemed routine and simple, nothing to important.
She opened the drawers in his desk, and curiously they were all empty. In fact the whole office was rather empty. Looking around there was nothing else in the room except a chair and a waste paper basket.
Sensing she could find something she looked isndie, and there was a small burnt piece of paper, with just a few visible words inside. ‘and he has decided to contain it there. Daniel will remain in dual operation at both the bank and the station, so he will be able to direct police attention away from him. Hopefully Poe will remain safe at the bank. Meanwhile, I will go to find Mister M in Sta-’The rest of the paper was burnt away, but that didn’t matter. She had learned enough. Mr Poe was not here. He was at the bank.
But… surely this couldn’t be correct? ‘Edward’ or whoever he was had said there was a locking device where Mr Poe was hidden (and of course, they had forgotten to ask exactly where he was hidden). So either he was mistaken and Mr Poe was not hidden there, or somebody or something else was. So it was worth investigating anyway.
Violet was about to leave the room, but she noticed, however, a piece of paper lying just below the window, as if someone had dropped when they entered the room unnoticed. She went over and picked up the sheet, and then suddenly, all of the Baudelaires problems were solved.
Klaus was scared.
There were only a few times in his life when he had been as scared as he was at the moment.
You see, the Baudelaires trial had gone fine. So far, all seemed to be in the Baudelaires favour, and they would soon be proved innocent.
But the problem was the judge.
The judge, was Esme Squalor
DUN DUN DUN! Anyway, more tomorrow. dealing with Esme, Mister M's wherabouts, and a return of a banker (but which one?).

All of the Baudelaires' problems were solved? It'll be a short series, then.
Also, how in the heck did Esmé get to be a judge? Well, I presume it's a disguise of some sort, but one never knows. She was the city's sixth most important financial advisor, which implies some familiarity with local law.

Esme is the judge? That's unexpected. And it can't really go well.

Esme is a judge, yes, but she MUST be in disguise. She's wanted by the police, of course....
