-Occasionally, at my school, when people were bored they would add "dynamite." -I think scissors beat dynamite, as they could be used to cut the fuse. -Those rock-paper-scissors variants are mind-blowing, though. -I can't remember the last time I played rock-paper-scissors. -For some reason, this makes me think of flipping coins. -I do things like that fairly regularly. -I woke up at a reasonable time this morning, but I felt very tired. -...Due to staying up until past midnight reading Going Postal. -I think I stayed in bed for an extra hour or so before getting up. -Well, maybe not that long. -I can't remember what time it was when I first looked at the clock. -My mother and brother seem to be having the closest thing they could have to an ongoing argument. -My mother finds some of my brother's videos annoying. -She wants to get rid of them. -Which isn't actually entirely reasonable. -I've just had lunch. -It was pretty tasty, but Mother made me help make it. -I'll have to see if I can persuade her to let me off some of cooking tonight. -As likely as not, though, she'll be unreasonable and refuse. -My lunch was pretty big, so I'll probably only have a small dinner.

-The RPS site has an interesting discussion of the "dynamite" move when added to normal Rock-Paper-Scissors. -According to that, scissors beat dynamite and dynamite beats rock, but nobody's sure what happens if dynamite goes up against paper. -The Rock-Paper-Scissors-Dynamite game seems to be unfair. -RPS-type games with even numbers of items don't seem to work well. -When I need to decide things, I sometimes flip a coin. -If I don't have any coins handy, I flip pieces of paper as if they were coins, or spin a pencil and see where it points. -I've been reading through this humor site: www.aaaugh.com/index.html-The "How many forum members does it take to change a lightbulb?" joke is there.

-I generally spin pencils/pens. -I had to do that a while ago, to decide whether to tear a page out of my book, or hand the whole book in. -Mother's having a nap, but she's just sent me to get water. -As usual. -I could almost set my watch by her, on Saturdays. -My brother is being loud. -Hopefully, my parents will take him out for a walk soon. -This will give me some peace and quiet. -Hopefully, it will also tire him out. -I've gone back to using my scrap-paper bookmark. -I lost it for a while, as I didn't need it for Crime and Punishment (the Literary Classics range has a red piece of material attached to serve as a bookmark) or for The Quiet American (so short and full of different chapters/parts that I could easily remember where I was). -It doesn't look so misty outside, now. -It does look damp and dull, though. -The sky is a kind of white-grey. -Oh, that reminds me. -I took a picture of a jay on the lawn earlier. -Unfortunately, by the time I had grabbed the camera, it had hoped too far away for me to get a good picture. -And a moment after I photographed it, it flew away.

-My computer's being slow and annoying. -The internet keeps having to close, and a little while ago there was something about a virus being detected and deleted. -At least any viruses we have are being removed, apparently. -Still, I'm worried that they might cause damage, even if the antivirus thing gets rid of them. -Nobody else in the house is awake yet. -They'll probably be up soon, though. -I heard a raven a minute ago, but couldn't see it. -That's a cool jay. -I wish I had a number that followed me around, as PJ is followed by the number 42. -Maybe I'm just not paying enough attention to random numbers around me. -There are some post-it notes on the desk with numbers on them, but there don't seem to be any particularly reoccuring numbers on them.

No-one seems to be interested in The Nameless Novel Ball. (I'm somewhat annoyed about this, as I'm hosting it.)

-Recently, my computer has been incredibly slow on occasions. -It's been pretty annoying. -My parents are back from their walk. -I'm not sure if I mentioned them leaving. -But they weren't out for long. -And I was busy taking pictures. -I wonder when I'll have to go help with dinner. -Too soon, probably. -Although that's not a real answer. -Also, I should find myself a drink. -The weather outside is the same as it was earlier. -Well, perhaps it does look a little less damp. -I see conspiracies almost everywhere, but I haven't noticed any 42 / Bad Wolf / Bad Peej -like things. -Unless I'm being followed around by something I wouldn't notice, like chairs. -But then, where's the point? -It's meant to be noticeable.

-I've suspected all sorts of conspiracies about various things. -Sometimes, for instance, I keep seeing the same obscure word or name in unrelated sources. -Or some quote or phrase seems to show up again and again in what I'm reading. -And I suspect that crows are following me. -Maybe I'm the victim of a massive chair conspiracy... -I certainly see chairs everywhere, and who knows what they're plotting. -My father keeps asking me if I want the light on or off, although it doesn't make much difference. -Ugh, I just got a Too Many Connections on 667 in another window. -There's text at the bottom of the screen: 200 OK Connection: close Date: Sat, 15 Oct 2005 16:09:43 GMT Accept-Ranges: bytes ETag: "52cc9-2b-3dab073f" Server: Apache/1.3.22 (Unix) Content-Length: 43 Content-Type: image/gif Last-Modified: Mon, 14 Oct 2002 18:04:47 GMT Client-Date: Sat, 15 Oct 2005 15:18:14 GMT Client-Response-Num: 1 -I think that Too Many Connections text is one of the new v4 things, and I don't think I've noticed it before.

-I saw the spoiler *sigh* -I sorta wish I didn't see it, although it makes me wonder if it's true -I'm working on my longest post -I started it last night, but had to go to bed as it was midnight and I had school today You can't even let me have it for a day? Fine. My whole life has been full of pointless conversations if you beat me I'll just post all of those conversations. Or something, but I'm going to have the longest non-story post. -I'm still working on it Pan. I don't have as much time as I did when I did the other ones, as it was summer then, and I have school and a social life now.

-I seem to have missed the Too Many Connections. -I've been reading The Book of Imaginary Beings. -I kept on nearly falling asleep. -I should try not to stay up so late tonight. -Also, I'm meant to be helping with dinner right now. -I can hear my brother watching TV. -And Father may also be helping with dinner. -It looks like it's getting dark outside. -And now the light in here is getting orange-y. -I don't like that colour of light. -It looks slightly tacky, I think. -But I'm not entirely sure why I don't like it, aside from that. -I did have an odd coincidence with Francis de la Rochefoucauld the other day. -And there is the possible Bad Peej conspiracy encompassing the world. -But that's not really a conspiracy against me, but against the world in general. -Well, I'd best go and cook. -This will probably keep me occupied for more than an hour.

-The Book of Imaginary Beings is really good. -I actually have it in both English and Spanish editions, although I can't remember where I put the latter. -Recently, I've seen a few coincidences like that Rochefoucauld one, involving Nameless Novel clues. -I dreamed I was locked in a dark room with my notebook, and then came a clue concerning that same situation. -So if there's a conspiracy surrounding me, it's more like a bunch of little conspiracies than a big unified one. -It's been a nice, quiet morning. -My father's out in the yard watering the grass, and Mother's out shopping. -I've been trying to do a crossword puzzle, and wandering around the yard. -I keep hearing a weird "chip, chip" noise, apparently a bird, but I'm not sure what kind.

-Dinner wasn't too good, in the end. -Oh, and currently, it's an hour and three minutes since my last post in this thread, so I was quite correct. -I'll probably be playing Cluedo with my parents at some point later in the evening. -All I really had to do was make scones, which was easy. -And for some reason, I was reminded of a regular sketch on a children's show I watched years ago. -I can't even remember what that sketch was called, now. -Ducky And Me? -Mother's just confirmed that we'll be visiting the nice set of gardens when I visit my grandparents tomorrow. -And possibly walking around in some woods. -There's a cave up there, actually. -I'll try and get some pictures of it. -We took a torch to it once, but it didn't go back far. -It just went around a corner and then ended. -The sky outside is a very dark blue, and everything else just looks black. -I'm not really looking forward to going to my grandparents' house tomorrow. -I think I might be bored. -I'll take pictures, though, as there is some really interesting stuff over there. -I'll also take Noisy Outlaws Etc., so that I have something to read. -I expect to have finished reading The Book of Imaginary Beings today. -I know it's a reference work, but I like to read those through first, so that I know what's in them, and can remember it later. -Anyway, if I haven't finished that today, then I'll force myself to stay up late and finish it. -I think I might be getting a headache. -And my left shoulder aches.

-I liked Noisy Outlaws. -Snicket's introduction to it is really good. -We have ants, unfortunately. -There were a lot of ants on the porch, but none of them seem to have actually gotten inside. -Father wants to clean the patio, I think. -I really should get some work done on my homework, but I'm really tired. -I don't have a huge amount of work, but I don't want to put off what I do have. -I'm somewhat interested in seeing the movie Mirrormask. -I've heard it's really good, and my parents are interested in it. -However, I'm not sure if it's showing anywhere in my local theaters.

-Ahh. -I had my first flute lesson today. -I can make a noise from it. -So that's a start. -I might post the next chapter of my story today. -The Nameless Novel Ball isn't too lively. -That's a pity. -I wasn't here for the Grim Grotto Ball, so I was interested to see how this would go. -Brainiac: Science Abuse is on now. -Some man is trying an experiment about unicycles. -Oh, and now they're freezing an egg with liquid nitrogen. -I love that show.

-It's actually been a while since I saw ants. -I used to see them outside occasionally, but the last time I saw them was out on the moors somewhere, I think. -That's odd. -Although I think my father did recently spray some ant-killer around. -I saw an advert for the Mirrormask book on the Egmont site, but I didn't know much about it. -Not even the plot. -My brother took the computer for ages, playing a game. -It was pretty annoying for me. -But now he's doing homework with Mother. -My parents and I played two games of Cluedo earlier. -The results: -Game 1: Nobody wins. Game 2: I win. -The reason that nobody won the first game was because Father missed a card in his hand, thought that he'd won, and took the cards out of their envelope. -And in the second game, then I discovered the room and weapon on my first turn, but for a long time I managed to make my parents think I had the perpetrator instead. -I feel like there's something I should be saying, but I've forgotten it.
Edit:
-I've done a few Searches, but for some reason I could never find the actual thread for the Grim Grotto ball. -If anyone could find a link to it, I'd be interested to see it.
