It will be like every transition from one art to another art. It is a different reading of books and is about choices: good and bad. I hope I can understand and appreciate these choices, my fear is that they can do so many bad choices that I will not see where they come from.

Another difference is that ASOUE isn't a load of trash. Shots fired.

I am fearful that people will go around saying things like "I've never read the books. They're too boring, but I watch the TV show. "
While that would be annoying, I think at this point it's worth noting that ASoUE has been over for - well, it'll be more than a decade, most likely, by the time anything hits the screen; as such, it will be hard for me to see the TV series as competing with the books in the same way, or overshadowing them like the movie. Even despite the people who turn up their noses at reading a series which is about reading, I think the TV series would probably give the original books a sales boost. On the other hand, if anyone were to criticise the unevenness of the original series and point to the TV series as a more consistent, better-planned narrative... well, that would be a different matter. I'm a big fan of ASoUE, but I'm intrigued by the possibilities of a version of the story with actual forward planning.

Observe: Like all the best kpop websites, kpopstarz revels in taking salsa totally random people vaguely imply and using it for clickbait articles.
Simply marvellous.

"Twins".
Nice one, Geraldine.

Totally uninformed speculation by people who clearly know nothing about the series. This isn't fresh information, it's their incompetent interpretation of the original announcement. Pay it no heed.

Yes, notice how it first says 'two siblings' and then goes on 'the twins' as if it were obvious. (I think there is a natural tendency to think of pairs of children as twins - a lot of people, including myself in my fanfic, have read the two orphans recruited by Kit in TUA as twins, though it doesn't say so in the text.) And clearly the story will focus on V and K - Sunny, at least until near the end, isn't a character in the same way - but that needn't mean she is left out.

After seeing in Netflix page that ASOUE series is not labelled in the "Kids" section but in the "Series" one, I'm slightly relieved (https://pr.netflix.com/WebClient/loginPageSalesNetWorksAction.do?contentGroupId=10571&contentGroup=Premiere%20Dates)
I would really like something like BBC1 Sherlock, with long chapters covering each book. I'd prefer a lot of chapters covering all the details (maybe two or three for each book, depending of which). I liked the style of the movie, especially Lemony's narration; I can totally see some scenes featuring him as a mysterious character with the typewriter in all different places.
I'm really looking forward to it. I'd like to see Tim Burton in charge of this, it'd be his redemption after all the mistakes he made lately. I think this series can be a hit, I just hope they don't screw it.

Hey, you know who I think would be a pretty good director for the series?
Sam Raimi.

Most people don't find this important, but I most certainly do. I think having the right actirs is very important, and since I loved the movie and started reading the series because of the movie, I am pretty sure I am going to be bias towards the new actors no matter who they are if they are not Jim Carrey, Liam Aiken, Emily Browning, and the rest. However, they can't return because they would be way too old. Thinking back on it, Liam Aiken didn't portray Klaus very well at all, but I watched the movie first, so I don't care. Yeah, I guess that is what I am hoping for. Good actors. Especially for Klaus.

emily browning looks basically the same though i think? Even if she does, it would be pretty weird to bring back one of the original actors and then hire a new actor for every other character, including Klaus and Sunny.

If she could alter her voice to sound a bit more mature, I imagine Maisie Williams (Arya from Game of Thrones) could do a good job as Violet. She's 18 now, but looks a bit younger. 14 wouldn't be too much of a stretch, and I think that's around what Arya is supposed to be by now, anyway.
Also, David Tennant should definitely be Jacques!

isn't arya like 9? or at least in the books. I kind of don't maisie as violet though. maybe sophie turner would have been good if she was younger. I kind of want faye marsay to be violet though, even though shes to old.
