Some actors for my dreamed cast:
-David Tennant sounds great for Jacques.
-If they were younger, Dylan and Cole Sprouse with dyed hair for Quigley and Duncan. I'm sure they'd find a pretty girl that looks like them for Isadora, but welp, they're like 23 now so forget it.
-Natalie Dormer for Kit Snicket.
-Benedict Cumberbatch for the Denouement triplets.
-Daniel Huttlestone with glasses would be a really good Klaus.
-Meryl Streep for Aunt Josephine again pretty please.
-Lilla Crawford for Carmelita.
-If my dreams come true and Burton is the director, Helena Bonham Carter for Beatrice in the flashbacks plz.
-Also, start feeding Johnny Depp so he can be Uncle Monty.
Edit: OR EVEN BETTER, HELENA BONHAM CARTER FOR ESMÉ SQUALOR.

Actually, I think Lilla Crawford might *might* be a decent casting choice, even though she's a bit too old (IMO) as I imagine Carmelita is be around 10 or 11. But seeing as Carmelita's age wasn't confirmed in the books, Lilla could definitely get away with it.

Lilla Crawford I think could work for Violet, pretty close to the right age too. Personally I don't think she'd be mean enough to portray Carmelita. I mean she was bratty in Into the Woods, but not really mean.

As long as the Quagmires are charming enough, I think I will be pleased that an adaption is being made at all. Even if they make awful decisions, I'll be happy to see what aesthetic decisions they make, purely out of interest, and for that reason I don't think it will disappoint me. If I don't like it, that won't bother me, because it will be interesting to just see how it works out. In that respect, it would also be interesting to see what decisions (if any) are made to deviate from the books to make it work for TV. People get frustrated with deviations, but they're often very necessary for the format and I get quite excited to see how they're managed. It also has great potential to be a fantastic, legendary series. There may be approximately 43200 frames per episode, which is like 43200 new illustrations and that is mighty exciting

I just thought I'd warn people: A few news stories about the Netflix series have popped up recently, but I'm not sure why, as not one of them has any new information (one of them even sources itself to a six-month-old article). One article claims that the series is slated for 2016, but this is based on a fan-made teaser poster which they have taken for real, and I know it's fan-made as I have traced its source. As if Violet's name being misspelt wasn't a big enough clue. So basically this is a tip-off that if you see anything that looks like news, it probably isn't unless it has a very clear source.

This morning, I had this poster sent to me by two different people in different parts of the world, another friend shared it on Facebook and another shared it on Tumblr. I felt like a spoil-sport pointing out to so many excited people that Violet's name is mis-spelt, the font is that of the movie's and that the last news I heard was about them looking for a director. And with all due respect to Adeptodemercurio, I'd expect a better poster (ie. not a holiday brochure image behind Olaf, at the very least)

Haha only Daniel and Lilla, because they're pretty much the only young-enough actors I know. Meryl and Johnny are more than ITW

He has a Burton-themed one, The Barbarous Bazaar, though I suspect you'd have to read earlier ones in the series to follow it.

Edit: OR EVEN BETTER, HELENA BONHAM CARTER FOR ESMÉ SQUALOR. That would be wonderful! My only worry is that we need to save her for the role of S. in the prequel series I hope is to follow.

I really hope it keeps the tension and suspense the books had, the fear of olaf being behind your shoulder, feeling as if something good is happening only too be once again in distress I hope it has an air of mystery like the books and all the subtle references to past events and characters, the foreshadowing, when one question gets answered 2 questions pop up, not knowing vfd members like the waiter in the third book I also hope the setting is a steampunk present/past kind of atmosphere, and that they do a 1 book per season, however im not sure how they would do this

The good thing about them approaching the series from after the series's end is that they can make it more coherent, not less. I think there's reason to hope for more links and references than were there in the original.
