Along with being a neat twist, having O'Hara is a nice nod to the fans that will be coming to the show having only seen the movie. Can't wait till Thursday; I'll have to be super productive so I can take it off from schoolwork and flit between here and YouTube!!!

On the subject of discussion of whether the man in the Orwell photograph is Phil, in the book it's Charles who takes Klaus to see Dr. Orwell. I think it would make a lot of sense to change it to either Phil or a generic lumbermill worker, but it's important to bear in mind that it is a change regardless.

Good point, I honestly couldn't remember.

I LOVE IT. Literally the illustrations. Also, hoping Handler's Twitter gives us something today. Maybe Aunt Jo?

Does this mean we get Shirley tomorrow?
I agree everything feels like it's right out of the book.

I hope we get Shirley next.
Also, I love Stephano's beard, especially because I can imagine Sunny wearing it to become Chabo.

Zooming in, it looks like the glasses are actually magnifying his eyes, which is rather brilliant. I can't tell if he still has his monobrow or not; I'm wondering if this is actually like the Detective Dupin disguise, where his sunglasses were meant to cover his eyebrow, for it certainly looks as if these could. The original Stephano's way of shaving off his eyebrow did always make one wonder why Olaf didn't just do that every time.

I bet his office will be smoky...and the first time we meet him, will be through a cloud of smoke...MAYBE it's an effect they're adding to the show that they didn't add to the production photos...

My bet is that it's just a set photo. The smoke will probably be added in in post production. Or at least I hope so. I mean, why go through the trouble of having him carry the cigar if they're not gonna do the smoke gag?

I'm not surprised that they nixed that element of his character. The cgi required to make that work effectively and not just look extremely cheesy would be costly. Smoke like water is one of the more difficult effects to create and in this case it would have to be trailing from his cigar and then shrouding his face while the actor was constantly in motion, it wouldn't really work. Netflix creates great shows but their cgi is still noticeably pathetic compared to larger budget productions in Hollywood. Not to mention cigar smoke isn't really that thick I believe we can expect some of the more cartoonish elements of the series to be toned down if not replaced with a more realistic alternative.

I would imagine we get a fan-service one-time-only version of the gag when we first meet him, and that's it.

I don't know. I still think they're gonna do the effect, I just don't think it's in these set photos. These look like photos that were taken on the set while filming, not so much actual shots from the show to me. Also, even if they are actual shots, I doubt they would have done too much post on them aside from maybe a little color grading and correcting. I'm still putting money on his face being obscured, personally.
