For some reason, it's only now just sunk in, that in about a month or so. They'll have finished filming on the show, forever.
:Edit: Of course, even then we'll still probably have at least 7+ months before it comes out but still.

Considering how long it takes them to film a book (roughly 5 weeks) this does not bode well for the theory that The End will be a feature-length episode.

Considering how long it takes them to film a book (roughly 5 weeks) this does not bode well for the theory that The End will be a feature-length episode. Exactly what I was thinking. Even if The End is not the most action-packed book, the heart and big ideas explored in the final installment are crucial to the lasting legacy of the series. I'd expect an adaptation to give them the same time and care. Of course, this is all premature conjecture - they haven't even filmed it yet, and sometimes less is more - but, considering the runtimes of the first 18 episodes, anything less than an hour would be a disappointment. |

No one can say for sure, but considering Netflix's reticence when it comes to releasing two seasons of a program in the same year, I would guess that we'll have to wait until at least January.
