I'm beginning to doubt this alleged November release.

The sources have impeccable credentials. But that doesn't mean that Netflix can't change its mind.

The picture of Mr. Poe with Kit Snicket in the Mortmain Mountains was all I needed to know that my hopes that Netflix would cut down on Mr. Poe's appearances have gone up in smoke. What's the point of having him in every single scene? He's already succeeded in making his book counterpart look like Bill Gates. Are we really expected to still find a joke that's being told for the umpteenth time funny?

Are we really expected to still find a joke that's being told for the umpteenth time funny? You're aware of what books/TV series we're discussing, right? The one where the same jokes always get varied-upon and repeated ad-infinitum? Where the villain is always reusing basically the same evil scheme, and the conclusion is always basically the same? Of course, Handler makes it work much better, because he is a very clever man. But ASoUE is built on repetitions and running-gags. It's not surprising the writers of the show would have this kind of mindset.

My first thought was a countdown to a trailer, but I'm not so sure as I think it counts down to a Friday...
Makes me wonder if they're going to surprise release the season that day. Netflix sort of did that with Arrested Development earlier this year.

They did? I remember weeks of advertisements of Reddit and Instagram, and live meet ups and stair car/blue people in cities. There was marketing all over weeks before the release. My guess is the sneak peak. This would follow recent marketing schedules for other Netflix originals recently.
Edit: And last season, although this will be quite different, we had a countdown for almost 3 months and then another for 13. A seasons final season drop so suddenly doesn’t seem right.

Ten days means Saturday 13th, so I assume we're getting a full trailer. Anything you can tell us, netflixasoue? Pretty please? Thank God something is happening, I was starting to worry.

Hey! I see you have noticed my last Instagram story. I didn't expect it to become relevant at all. My countdown is for something different from what you've said. It's exciting but I'm afraid it isn't what you're thinking. However, I'm not saying we won't get new information these months. In fact, I know something is coming up soon. That's all I can say for now but I don't want to get your hopes up about it. Edit: as a lot of people is expecting something official, the story has been deleted. I'll announce something soon.

Yeah, I miscounted. Don't know why I had it in my mind that today was Tuesday. It just seems odd to have a 10 day countdown for a trailer to me. But then again, most advertising is pretty arbitrary, so I probably shouldn't read into it. They did? I remember weeks of advertisements of Reddit and Instagram, and live meet ups and stair car/blue people in cities. There was marketing all over weeks before the release. My guess is the sneak peak. This would follow recent marketing schedules for other Netflix originals recently. It was pretty sudden. There was very little info, then the trailer/release date suddenly dropped and it was set to air that month. Then there's the whole Colverfield Paradox release... Netflix sometimes likes to catch us off guard is all I was trying to say. They're not always easy to predict.

The thing is, though, I'm not sure why they'd release a book you'd have to avoid reading in order to not get spoiled for a show that hasn't come out yet. It may seem bizarre, but I have experienced this with other behind the scenes/extra material books before. Whether it's bad planning on the publisher's part or they just don't really care about spoilers so long as they sell copies ... Who knows?

Not everyone worries about spoilers. If we do, we don't have to buy it straight away.

Unlike Netflix shows, most books (especially big, glossy ones) require a greater buffer between when they are finished and when they are released.
When a Netflix show's post-production is finished, it's finished. All that needs to happen is for Netflix to send the episodes electronically to a selection of critics and give them two weeks grace to watch about 4-10 hours of content and then write a review before the show actually drops.
While books (especially the big glossy ones) often take a reviewer a lot more time to get through, as they not only have to make sure to read and analyze every individual page in a timely manner but also get through a pile of other books which will require a similar process.
Not to mention that books need to not only be printed and looked over thoroughly afterwards in order to ensure no problems with the psychical printing process but also shipped en masse to retailers weeks ahead of release so that they have enough time to properly stock and display them.
This is why the people who worked on the book were already posting pictures of the finished printed version back in late August and early September.
