On this day, 20 years ago, "The Bad Beginning" and "The Reptile Room" were published. This is when it all started, with these 2 relatively short books that have grown into 13 books, a Jim Carrey film, and a 25-episode netflix series. We owe it all to this day.

TBB and TRR were published on the same day? There is a fact I did not know. Can't believe this was two decades ago. Happy birthday, ASOUE! Maybe children continue to read you, but not sail across a lake during a hurricane or attempt to sword fight their optometrists with their teeth.

TBB and TRR were published on the same day? There is a fact I did not know. I'm not wholly confident that they were, as online records for back to 1999 aren't perfect; but that's what the evidence indicated when I researched the topic in the past. |
